Day 238.

A much better day at work, I've come to the conclusion that I really can't be arsed caring any more. It causes me stress and then people I know bear the brunt of it. Natural selection will soon kill off all the stupid people that are in my work.

Haven't seen this spider in a good week or 2. It's a massive one, must be at least an inch and a half in length. It's an orb spider. A big one.

I aim to please!! I'm a bit obsessed with this particular spider, it's about three times the size of anything else in the garden. It always sits with it's belly towards me though, with a fence right behind. :bang:

Move it then

Im not to bad with very small spiders but the bigger they are the worse i am and for some reason its getting worse, never used to be this bad :bonk:

Just to add i think the spider is minging not the shot

I think I know why it's getting worse!! :D

Ooo that is a big looking spider, nice colours too

Thanks Julian, it's nice to have LR working correctly. They are coming out like I see them now.

Day 239.

Nice relaxed day in and around Ballymoney. Spent the majority of this morning testing a school system. It might be me, but I think teachers are getting younger and better looking... This was the lazy shot for today, I took some on the way home but they were terrible and covered in rain spots. I'm heading out to a gig again tonight, so thought I'd get this uploaded just in casey!!
121secs at f/8. ISO 100. Through the window of my computer room/studio/smallest room in existence.

Day 240.

A long driving day, went from home to Cookstown to Omagh to Lisnaskea then home again. Went and met Bern to give her a loan of my wee Velbon tripod. Took a load of shots today but they are all horrible, so decided to try a longer exposure on the beach at Ballygally. Forgot to bring my remote, so had to stand with my finger on the shutter, hence the blur and the crap shot.

Yet again, good idea, not enough time and not well enough prepared. I will get it right eventually!!

Wow, that is a blurry, looks like a camera phone shot (sorry), what about using self timer ? Looks like there were some nice lighting there.

Had to use Bulb mate, a 30 sec was seriously underexposed. So had to hold my finger on the shutter, that and having the second choice tripod head with me. It was never going to go right!!

Phone shot?? A phone would never look as bad....

I think you need to do that again, looks like it could be a nice pic!

Just remember your jacket and remote ;)

It has turned blinking cold hasnt it?

Have just checked this morning, the remote was in the bottom of the camera bag. D'oh!! Will definitely be trying it again, would love to get there just before sunset. Have a closer location planned for a welding shot very soon. :D

:bonk:

Look forward to seeing it :) Would love to try some shots like that but never go anywhere where they might look good

Day 241. Dancy Man.

Shot for the day taken and all at 12pm today. Can't beat it!!

The annual Black parade was on in Ballymena today. Linky To History

So I took a drive up and brought the camera. It's the first time in a while I've felt a bit self conscious with the camera, maybe it was being on my own, I'm not sure. Maybe it was being in Ballymena?? :naughty:

Anyway, thought I'd get it uploaded and out of the way, football to watch and beer to drink!!

Day 242.

Spent today hungover and bored. Decided to try some waterdrops again, now that I have a dedicated macro lens. Found it difficult to judge the DOF, many came out slightly in focus, found that I had to stop the whole way to f/22 to get any consistency. This is the second time I've tried these, not as much faffing about to set the thing up this time. Good way to spend a few hours!!

Nice effect, just noticed the reflection looks awesome, just a shame it's a cropped a bit tight. I can imagine it's tricky, especially having to have at f/22 to get enough DoF

It's more of a timing thing Julian, I'll have to explain to you how I do it. I think the strobist blog had a tutorial on it, will have to find it. Some of the original shots I was trying to bounce the flash off the kitchen tiles which are a lovely red colour. But at f/22 1/250 it was working hard. So switched to direct flash.

Lovely water drops JD, the reflection is super

Thanks Nic. :D

Mmmmm I prefer that one a lot more than the first I have to say, it's ART!!!
