Urgent and Upset Now Been 4 Weeks and NOTHING

Read the emails I have sent.

shifting to suppliers section

are you using kerso1123@msn.com
as he doesn't always reply to his "other" email address

I can't understand what is going on with him. I have bought in the past with no problems.

I have on order a Sigma 150mm F2.8 EX DG Macro Lens - Nikon Fit and he has offered me a -

I do have Canon 10-22mm but good bit more expensive!

It is almost as though he is not reading his emails himself.

I placed the order on 5th May and paid his sister £499 and as yet nothing received.

I'm sure you'd be better Pm'ing him rather than starting a thread.

He was on here yesterday.

i would use the other email

I am using 2kerso@gmail.com and have received replied on that.

I am sorry to suggest anything but how did you come across this email address? You have to be very careful with things like that. :nono:

I have made a couple of purchases from Ian using that email address. :)

I have bought from and had many dealings with Ian, and can say he is a very trust worthy guy.

I think there will be an easy explanation for any problems that are happening and when he finds out will rectify the problem asap.

I would suggest you use the msn email address and also just send him a PM.

I know it can be frustrating when things dont work out perfectly.

Ashley, I have just been made aware of this thread. Please understand you are making it look like I haven't contacted you for 4 weeks? I only e-mailed you last week to tell you that I was still waiting on the Sigma lens that I ordered especially for you. Please can you get this thread closed as you are only worrying yourself. I will refund you by return cheque in morning as my supplier still doesn't have the Sigma in stock. Regards Ian.

I have bought a bunch of stuff from Ian:

Canon 200mm f2.0
Canon EF 2X II Extender
Canon EF 12mm tube
Canon EF 25mm tube
Canon Drop-in PL-C 52mm Circular polariser
Canon Drop-in 52mm screw-in filter holder
Canon G10

Something went wrong with the Drop-in 52mm screw-in filter holder.

These things happen. Ian was entirely straightforward in sorting it out. I'm pretty sure that he ended up selling that part at a loss due to currency fluctuations but he never mentioned it.

From my experience Ian is entirely trustworthy and of course, exceedingly good value. I would recommend him.

Andrew

Got to agree never had a problem with Ian (KERSO) you can trust him 100% The thread above says it all
Bob

I'd like to add my support for Ian here too. Ian is someone you can trust 100%, and has been totally professional in all my dealings with him. I've spent a lot of money with Ian, and would have absolutely no worries about doing so again.

Ashley,

Reading this thread leads me to believe that you've had no communication with Ian since paying the money on 5th May. If that's not correct then I think it would be good to clarify things a little for the sake of other potential buyers and for Ian's excellent reputation.

Kerso is 100% trustworthy.:)

First I would like to point out to all that I have done business with Ian in the past, and not just a few pound but the likes of Nikon 70-200 etc.

I would say that I do trust Ian as I have no reason not to. I have not read in any place anything bad said about Ian.

What I would say is that communication can be difficult at times. Him in the States, us here and the time difference.

Basically, what happened here was that on this occasion, as it seems that Ian has closed his Abbey account, I was unable to pay into his Clydesdale Bank. Me being in Surrey and all that and was not prepared to do a money transfer and basically get ripped off on bank charges.

What I did here was to send his sister a cheque of £499. I would not expect Ian to get a special clearance on the cheque as his markup margins are not great.

On the 6th May I advised Ian that I had sent his sister a cheque for £499. I had no reply to this which did not bother me as I no that contacting Ian can be difficult.

I sent a copy of the email on the 7th May and he acknowledged this and thanked me for the business. So now all is well and I am feeling happy.

As I had sent a cheque, I felt that I needed to give Ian time to allow the cheque to clear and therefore did not contact him with regards to the lens on order for some time. I did however contact him with the following question.

9th May

Dear Ian.

What would be the cost of Nikon SB R1C1 Flash System to include delivery.

I did not receive a response to this enquiry, again not bothered as I know it's hard getting hold of Ian at time.

On the 12th May I sent the following.

Dear Ian.

Waiting for 1 order but in the mean time

What would be the cost of Nikon SB R1C1 Flash System to include delivery.

I did not receive a reply.

On the 18th May I sent the following email.

Ian. Did you receive my cheque and if so, when may I expect delivery of the lens.

I received no reply.

On the 22rd May I felt that something was wrong and sent the following email

Ian.

I ordered a Sigma 150mm F2.8 EX DG Macro Lens - Nikon Fit and have not received this. I presume that you have received the cheque.

Are you still in business and will I receive this lens.

U sent this same message again on this day and marked the email as urgent.

On the 22nd May I received this reply from one of my emails sent on the same day.

Hi Ashley, Yes no problem, just waiting on it arriving, it is ordered.
Please advise? Ian.

Ok so now I am happy again and feel that all is ok and will receive the lens very, very soon.

I also received this, again on the same day.

Sorry, this is 1st I have heard from you since I got cheque. If my supplier doesn't get stock soon I will need to send refund!

I replied by saying keep the cheque for now.

On the 31st May I sent a message marked Urgent saying the following.

Any news on the Sigma 150mm F2.8 EX DG Macro Lens

Now I am starting to get concerned again and enquired on this forum if others had been able to contact Ian. I also sent a pm.

I received a reply to this as follows.

Will check with supplier tomorrow, if he doesn't have it yet I can refund? Is that okay? I do have Canon 10-22mm but good bit more expensive!

I DO NOT WANT A CANON I ORDERED A SIGMA LENS TO FIT A NIKON

On the 31st May I sent this message

Ian. I am looking for the Macro for a NIKON camera.

Some confusion here it seems.

Sigma 150mm F2.8 EX DG Macro Lens.

I posted a cheque to your sister on the 5th May for £499.
On the 1st June I received this from Ian.

Asley, Not sure what you are talking about? I know what you are looking for and I know its not a Nikon camera. I know when you sent the cheque. Why the heading upset? I have told you I will refund you this week if my supplier can't give me a date today. Ian.

20 minures later I received this email.

Sorry I see what you are saying here, my mistake offering a Canon lens. I am waiting on the Nikon fit Sigma!

I replied with the following

Ok Ian. I was very concerned that I would end up with a lens that was for a Canon camera that I did not want and could not use.

Please let me know what your supplier says. This really would be most appreciated. I was hoping to use the Macro at the start of spring. But, ha ho, that's life.

And I received this a short time ago.

Ashley, I will refund, still not in stock. Please can you update thread you started on TP!
Will I send cheque to address provided?
Ian.

---------------------------------------------------

From the above I think that the reader of this thread will see my concerns.

I will end by saying that I think Ian is a great guy and one that can be trusted and it is through him that it has become possible to own some near unfordable equipment just because we live in rip of uk.

Ashley, I let you know I was waiting on stock and had received your cheque. Please can we move on, I have apologised for lack of communication with this order. My fault this time but please let's move on. Hope we can do business next time. Regards Ian.
Opps is right. Now corrected

Ok Ian. No issue as far as I am concerned. The above I have posted so that the readers can see how all this came about.

I do not think that I am being unfair here.

In fact when I think about it, the problem has come about due to a lack of communication. I placed an order and you did not keep me informed as to what was happening.

Am I asking too much. If you or anyone was to purchase anything from anyone and did not receive your order within a reasonable time would you not be concerned.

I was left in limbo. It's as simple as that. Does the buyer have to keep contacting the seller. I think not.

What do you want me to say. It was all my fault.

I think you're paranoid man - read the stuff on here - Ian is 100% trustworthy - are you?

It seems that AshJez has a valid point here as well as it being known that Ian is a respected and trustworthy seller here on TP.

These things can happen and personally I think it best that the situation is resolved via PM.

Just my 2P

No, but I, and I imagine most others who have read this, would have suggested that your post could have been dealt with in a private message. There really is no need to air your dirty laundry on here. We all know Ian.

Can I suggest you leave it now...? Please.

Close the thread please !!

Whenever you are selling stuff, especially over a distance, things might occasionally not run to plan. It happens in business whether you are buying from a big household name or from a sole trader. Ian had put his hand up and said his fault this time, so move on.

And for the record, I too have bought from Ian and found the service excellent.

Why is Kerso the only trader on this forum that nobody is allowed to have an issue with?

Any other thread about another trader would never asked to be shut down.

Despite popular opinions .... A few of us have had issues with Ian in the past but he likes to hush it all up.

Keeping this thread even.

Paranoid or not .... Would you wait 4 weeks (or more) for a lens?

Yes I have done - special order from Ian - and a good price - and worth the wait - if you want it tomorrow - go to jessops! LOL :D
