It is broke. Again.

Havnt got a clue what it is.

Doing aobut 65 done the dual carraige way and there was a noise like a bug hitting the screen. Next minute no power or drive. Stuck in the middle of the road until a kind copper helped me push it to safety.

BUt it is now broke. Again. I am not happy.

Anyone got a lighter and some petrol?

This sounds like something that happened on my calibra engine. I lost power and the car wouldn't start.

It was a tiny plactic clip that was inside the Distributor cap that spund the Cam shaft from the rotary arm.


Also, Have your checked for basic's like, Spark from each spark plug - Fuel is going into the injectors?
 
It does sound like some thing has popped off or there's an electrical problem. Do your warning/message lights still come on ?

good shout, the other thing that always goes on Vaux Corsa's are ICV (idle control valves) but this wouldn't make any noise and just make your car idle rough.
 
remember though, this will tell you what sensor's are throwing up error's. From there you have to work out why that sensor it having an error.

If you heard or felt a clunk - hardware will have popped off or gone bang inside - thats when you need to start digging and finding the cause.
 
the ECU (that your reading) will be a standard Vauxhall one. Just do the test - its free and can save you £50-70 (by Vaux doing a diognostic's check)

It's a 1.0 that Matt's got. I'm only speaking from personal experience with a Corsa C, however Matt says the car wouldn't start this morning, which is giving me second thoughts, as when that sensor goes the car will usually start up fine after a short "rest" :shrug:
 
its ok matt, ive googled it and found the problem

if you just swap it for something more reliable, like a Fiat, or a Yugo..
 
Matt start with the simple things, have you checked all the fuses?

The only solution, is that i agree with Matty, Its a Vauxhall, Scrap it and buy a Golf, you know you want to! :lol:

100 percent correct the car also needs to be running for more than 30 seconds for a engine management light to come on also

the 1.0 have major crank sensor faults worst vauxhall to have these

The obvious question is:

Do these have a cambelt? If so and it's bust I wouldn't be turning the engine over.
