I am gonna find out the creator of the corsa b and ring his neck!! (GOOD NEWS!!!!!!!)

I'd blame the naughty goblins :D

It may be an idea to get a different car Matt, as you seem to be having lots of problems with the Corsa. There can be some really good cheap 2nd handers - it's just buying a good reliable 2nd hander will save you from frustration and repair costs.

well *sigh*...you know what the answer is...?

Buy A FORD...lol

You know it makes sense...

Awesome term! :lol::lol::lol:

Describes my Saab perfectly :D

That's the clean version

1.0 would def be head off job and in for repair which would work out cheaper to buy a good used engine then to mess around with head changes etc

Fer gawd''s sake, there's a fair chance all the car needs is a twenty quid sensor (or even just the old one cleaned) and you're talking about new engines. You'll give the lad a heart attack :nono:

The answer is to fix the thing, punt it and buy something Japanese ;)

You all seem to forget that ford stand for "Fix Or Repair Daily".

corsa is a nasty little car, i had one as a hire car between my old mondeo engine popping(well over 100k on it before anyone starts!)and the aquisition of my Focus tdci and it was a nasty little pile of crap. the plastic on the dashboard was also on the gearlever, the sterring wheel and every other bit of trim in the car. *shudder*

the new astra due in september looks like a nice car, but its still only got a torsion beam rear suspension setup so its a match for the Golf or Focus when cornering

Never had a problem with Fords apart from normal wear and tear and crap inherited from rubbish previous-owners...and Ford are the only one of the Big three not asking for Government bail-out money...why is that I wonder?

Answer : the ford f1 lightning

the car that outsells everything, in America. Yes that's a topgear qoute but it's true...

Could it be a cambelt snapping/slipping?? I managed to break one on my old corsa even though it was 20K from being due a change!?

Give the people what they want...if they want a stupid great truck with an under-powered V8 and tractor-like suspension, give it to them...

If they want a V8 muscle-car with live rear-axle so they can drag the 1.4-mile, give it to them...

Ford LISTENS to it's customers...that's why they're still doing well...

In Europe, customers wanted BMW-alike saloon cars, so that's what they got in the new Mondeo...
Customers wanted affordable, but powerful small cars so they got the Focus RS and the new Fiesta...

Get a Toyota, end of problems.I have two......

Matt, if you need any help mate, pm me. I've even got a 2001 1.0 for sale, with 58,000m on the clock.
Its only about £750. Just needs a good valet.
But if you decide to repair yours and need some help in sourcing parts etc at trade price, let me know.
I might be able to talk you through diagnosing it also. Its only a car mate. Don't let it stress you.

Kev.

Out of all the car manufacturers in Britain, Ford workers have been least affected by lay offs and haven't had wage cuts either. Also although sales are down market share is growing.
So Ford must be doing something right.

It isnt just a 'car' to me though.

It is my key to getting out in the world. Seeing things I never would have without  Also, if I get annoyed with anything(one) just go out in the car and everything is right again :)

Going to have a crack at fixing it tomorrow :)

Dude, seriously that is not the right thing to do. All you have got to do is boot it down in a 30 and a copper being sat at the edge pulled three points and a fine.

I know if i go out in a mood or someone gets me in a mood when i am out, i drive like a complete p****

Tony

it is going to the sodding garage. Spent bloody ages on the peice of turd today and replaced the recomended bits and bobs to no luck. We have also covered all the basics so it is going to the garge and is going to cost me a lot of money.

I bloody hate this car.
