The RX10iv does wellTook my RX10iv along with my OM1 and 300f4 out together today - I feel like the Olympus setup should be absolutely destroying the Sony but it never seems to work out like that in practice... Got some nice shots and some poor ones with both setups and the nice ones are very close (especially after denoise + sharpen).

It's a very capable camera for most situations so I'm sure she'd be happy with it if she's looking for an all-in-one setupThe RX10iv does well
A pity it has been discontinued as I was thinking my OH might find it to her liking???

Yes - finding one at a decent price might be a challengeI will have keep an eye on secondhand availability & prices???
A good condition example seems to be going for £1300 upwards on MBP and Wex etc - as a private seller it'd be a bit less I guess. Maybe @ajophotog would take itWhat sort of price do they go for these days?
I bought mine for a trip to Vietnam and have since taken it to Mexico, telling myself each time that I'd sell it when I got back.
I can't afford to keep it but it is so easy to pack, pick up and use and it's shortcomings are easy to forget when you consider the fact that I'd have had to lug around a bag full of lenses to have the same reach.
Part of me thinks that I'd be better off keeping it and selling a couple of my fuji x lenses instead.
As so many have said, it seems amazing that Sony have not released a new model.
I got my last one from e-infinity for £1050.00 new, secondhand prices are way more then l want to spend for one now.A good condition example seems to be going for £1300 upwards on MBP and Wex etc - as a private seller it'd be a bit less I guess. Maybe @ajophotog would take it![]()

I don't know much about the differences but a friend has a mk3 and after a couple of minutes playing with my mk4 says the focus is waay better (faster and more accurate) on the mk4.Been looking for one for a while now. My canon sx50 is getting a bit long in the tooth these days. Might try for the mk 3. Not sure what the difference is between them.
Did have a read up and the mark4 is much better with birds in flight shots as well.I don't know much about the differences but a friend has a mk3 and after a couple of minutes playing with my mk4 says the focus is waay better (faster and more accurate) on the mk4.
There may be other improvements but that was his first reaction.
I upgraded from a Mk3 to a Mk4 a while back and there is not a huge difference aside from B-I-F focussing as noted - if you don't need that I wouldn't discount a Mk3, they are both greatDid have a read up and the mark4 is much better with birds in flight shots as well.

A couple of snaps from tonight on the RX10iv

Thanks George, hope all is wellTwo very nice Bridge style captures Mike, liking both of these pic's very much.

There are plenty around second hand that don't look wildly expensive to me - treat yourself to another!Yeah they have come down in price a little of late, might take a look after Christmas Mike. Then what to do with the Om system gear as it wouldn’t get used lol. That's a beauty AlbyThere are plenty around second hand that don't look wildly expensive to me - treat yourself to another!
Well I’ve not been out for a while with my Om system gear, just been to busy with other stuff. I did get out with the Panasonic g80 with the Om 14-150 lens to a local National trust site but found it totally uninspiring with the dank grey weather we are having atm.Well I'm down to an OM1, 8-25 and 60 macro which complement the RX10iv quite well I think - still pondering a 100-400ii but not convinced as yet...
Cheers
Cheers - when I saw it we stopped the car and I had just enough time to fire off a few shots out the window before it flew offAwesome shot Mike![]()

Happy New Year all
Got these two yesterday down at Bamburgh - they were in the same bush but I thought I'd get them together in the same shot so please forgive the jiggery-pokery

ExcellentTo misquote the late, great Kenneth Williams: I might forgive a little jiggery. But never any pokery!
Very pleased to hear it Alby! I’ve been pondering what to do after selling my 300f4 and MC14 and I think the answer is nothing at least for now - the RX10iv just suits me too wellHappy New Year.
Nice jiggery-pokery as you call it Mike.
Well I have just pulled the trigger on a minto rx10 iv so should be putting up some shots soon hopefully if all goes well.![]()
I've been looking back over some of my old shots with the RX10 and it seems very much to me that I could get sharper shots with that then I can with the OM-1 which I find remarkable . I have to edit the om files loads more than I ever did the sony files. I like the extra reach the om gives me so I might go for the 150-600 or the 300 f4 pro and add the 2 times extender for some extra reach. Looking forward to getting back to the rx10 iv though, I've really missed it. The sony is a much better option than the 100-400 mk2 I think.Very pleased to hear it Alby!
