I spoke too soon, its now raining steadily and quite a wind has got up although still at 9-C.
 
10C here with torrential downpours now and then.

Just taken a look at your location. Some quite heavy rain on the radar over London area ..more to the NE of it.

Actually I'm only in London some of the time, at the moment I'm at Folkestone.
 
4pm, cloudy and dark.
Its still mild and dry though.
 
Got washed off the course this morning! Well, nobody else was stubborn stupid enough to carry on with me and I draw the line at playing with myself... Made the shower as soon as I got home even better!

First off...a big thanks again for the settings change. I'm seeing everything now.

These warmer, sometimes sunnier and windy days really help cut down on the electric by not having to use the dryer. I once checked the appliances and when the dryer was on the meter disc went round faster than a greyhound at the old White City Stadium :D It consumed the most followed by the kettle. The washing machine/dishwasher were ok..just moderate consumption,even the central heating doesn't use that much. We don't let it run and run,though. CH can be turned off before the desired temperature of maybe 18-20C is reached due to 'ongoing' heat thrown out by the radiators. I keep a record of the gas and electric,I do it each each Saturday morning and the electric consumption is around 60 -75 Kw/h a week but last week it went to 105. because of the dryer. We doing washing according to the weather but I appreciate that not everyone can do that. Whites were done yesterday and soon dried in the warm sunshine and moderate wind. Rain today but might be able to do the 'darks' tomorrow then we're clear so this week should be well down. Gas has gone from 25 units to 49 last week.My wife turns it on willy-nilly and after 15 minutes I turn it off, then she notices and says... "Have you turned the CH off ?"..Lol. Would I do that ? It generally goes back on.

Raining again as I post. Also trying to find out why three marked police vehicles are parked 75m away with a lot of police milling around in yellow coats.. Strange 'cos ..."Nothing ever happens round here".. ..until it does. :) Now, where have I heard that before ?

A typical condenser dryer is rated around 3000 watts. If it's on for say 3 hours, that comes to 9000 watts, or 9kwh. 1Kwh at the moment is around 30p, minus VAT, standing charge and also varies slightly with supplier of course. So a condenser dryer on for 3 hours would cost about £3 or so all in. It doesn't sound horrendous but, over a week, quarter, year, it adds up, although it would probably only be used when drying outside isn't possible of course.

We changed to a heat pump dryer last year, we're currently using about 1kwh per drying cycle, maybe twice a week at the moment, sometime 3 times. The dryer also only operates whilst it detects a certain mositure content (I forget what it exactly is) and it can also be set to cupboard dry, wearing dry or ironing dry. We always use cupboard dry, so the clothes are totally dry when the dryer stops.

Great bit of kit.

Anyway that's way off topic.

It looks like it rained again over night, Its just a miserable and damp 6oc here currently.
 
Currently 3 degrees outdoors but oddly, it feels warmer indoors today than it did yersterday with 6 degrees outdoors. Heating isn't on either.

It's a reasonably fine day at the moment, broken cloud, quite bright, no rain but everything is that damp, condensation way. Might be related to the nearby river.
 
It's been raining here pretty much all morning and is starting to get windy, still at 9-C.
 
It's raining quite hard, but that horrid all soaking drizzle.
The car says its 5.5oC out there.
 
Top down and heater turned up! Tyres rotated and battery charged.
 
The cloud must have had some depth all morning as it was dark enough for car headlights to be on. Nasty, chilly wind but I see (TV forecast) that it's going to warm up but right now just 3C.

It's barely above freezing here, but yes double figures by the week-end, apparently.

My goodness. It's midnight-25. That Israel thread keeps me up late so many times and I don't normally do 'late' :rolleyes:

I covered the car last night, it was just begining to get crispy. Went out to it his morning and the cover was soaked, the weather had changed through the night and warmed slightly, with rain and quite windy too.

This morning is quite nice, currently 6 degrees at 8-30am. Pretty calm and dry with a hint of a sunrise. Lovely.

I read read that twice too. I think he meant midnight + 25 ie 25 minutes past 12.
Its damp here again, with that mizzle type stuff and about 5oC :rolleyes:
 
(Folkestone) :- Better today than a wet all day yesterday. It's been cloudy/overcast all day but no rain as yet. Quite a drop in temperature from yesterday though as it's now 3-C with very little wind.
 
9pm and 7 degrees, that'll do. Some light showers now and again, then clear spells inbetween. I can't hear any wind from indoors and I have no plans to go outside again tonight to check. :LOL:

It's very dull here and about 8oC, no wind.
At least its not damp or raining for a change.
 
(Folkestone) :- First thing this morning at 05-00 it was 2-C but has warmed up throughout the day. Fairly bright during the early part of the morning but dull and overcast for the rest of daylight hours. No rain and very little wind though.
 
Another dull and overcast day. At least its mild (10oC) and dry.

2pm and we have 9 degrees, the warmest I remember it being for a while. Cloudy and overcast, no rain but everything is damp. Very little wind.
 
Quite a bit warmer than yesterday 8-C at 05.00 and up to 10-C by the time I was out at 06-30. No rain and a very gentle breeze, just as well as when I got down to the seafront at 06-45 to try and get some fishing boat pic's there were actually a couple of folk out there swimming in the sea. This practice is very dangerous where they were as its very tidal down here and with no rescue people around and still not much light about. "CRAZY"
 
There were a few people sea swimming down at Lyme Regis yesterday. Bracing is, I think, the word. Or NUTTERS!!!
 
Just about to head on out as I want to catch some market traders setting up. It's 9-C here at the moment and reasonably clear with very little wind about.
