Heat.

It's 2203 and it's still pouring down. That's about 15 hours non-stop. There's going to be some serious flooding in the region and into the south west..especially Somerset which always suffers when it rains like this. I Googled why. Answer. Grasslands, which will absorb and retain rain, have been converted into maize-growing land and it doesn't absorb rain as efficiently.

It was supposed to be hissing down all day here, when it did rain, it wasn't much more than a light drizzle.
It's supposed to be hissing down again tomorrow (Tues) as well.

Well that just goes to show, they don't know it all.
From yesterdays weather map it was supposed to be hissing down all day. ( light showers from time to time)
Today's offering, and its supposed to be dry.
It looks like it rained hard over night and is still at it.

We're up to 3 degrees outside and no need for the heating on, as the sun tracks low and across our bay window in the living room this time of year, warming the living room up. I might even take my hoodie off. Being a bungalow, we get a heat soak from the loft too, which warms us up a little more, although that's negligible at the moment.

After yesterdays short break from the rain it started again and was raining all day and through the night. Today its a bit warmer +6 but has been drizzling with rain all day. Its apparently going to be back to 0c tomorrow for one day and slowly get a little warmer as the week goes on.

-1 now, blinds down, doors locked, heating on.

Tomorrow will bring that break in the bad weather that showed on the Sat24 cloud radar link I posted. We're going to wake up to a chilly morning tomorrow with chilly fog for a good part of the day. Another Low is coming in off the Atlantic being dragged in by the Jet Stream which will travel over Cornwall/Devon at 160/170 mph..quite fast..and head East bringing strong winds Thursday into Friday...50/60mph. A lot of rain with it,too ..30-50 mm in 24 hours so a yellow warning is out for the West Country and it will last all weekend. The centre of the Low looks like it will be will be over Birmingham which means the strongest winds will be south of there. It's not certain yet what the exact track will be but it will bring in heavy rain for South Wales,SW Midlands and Cumbria which bad news for Cumbria as snow melt will add to the water levels there..also SW Scotland and SE Grampians will get a lot of rain. I just get a feeling we're in for a very wet winter with a lot of serious flooding. At least the temperatures will rise ..11C in the SW...with the winds coming out of the West .

It looks to be back up to double figures by the end of the week here.
But also pretty wet into the bargain.

:runaway: More ice on the inside of the windowscreen than outside this morning.

HEAT , Yes please , Bring back the 30 degree + temperature , I can't wait.

The mist and frost outside look good this morning. :)

0-c here this morning at 05.00 but dry and brighter. Things look a bit more promising than the last few days.

-1.5 in the valley where we live, -0.5 above. Lovely morning, I stopped for a picture but couldn't pull it off.

One of the best things about Mrs Nod's EV is that if it's plugged in overnight, it's set to warm up for 1/2 hour before she (or I!) head down to town first thing (which is ~ 06:45). Demisted, de-iced and warm as toast!

I'd like one, wish I had a driveway

That was a cold one, still -4 at 7am, still -2 at 9am. A beautiful day though.

Well that was odd, it was raining well past midnight, and a few degrees above freezing.
I woke up to a cold clear morning and ice everywhere. The temperature must have dropped pretty rapidly in the wee small hours.

Oddly, the car parked closest to the house was iced up but Mrs Nod's car wasn't - and it wasn't plugged in, either!

+1 just now, when I nipped out in the car. Lots of frost still laying, where the sun hasn't reached.

+1 here as well now but feels a lot colder.

+1 and minimal frost, though I think it will freeze later.

Its freezing here, but there is a lot of rain forecast, through the night.

The gods need incontinence pants!

Its 7oC and just damp here

It was noticeably warmer this morning. Like most people, we are watching the gas bill, so have only had the heating on low overnight, just to keep things ticking over and prevent freezing too. The new boiler has frost protection but it's not enough to warm the house through the night, so the heating has been on low too. The house has been stony cold in the mornings, even with the heating on low overnight.

This morning, it was noticeably warmer, not warm but certainly a different feel to it. Also, we have been getting a very light misting of condensation on some of the windows, there was none this morning.

At 7 am, it was 3 degrees and a very light rain. It's now 5 degrees, 17 indoors, which is spot on for me. It's still quite dark, with heavy clouds and light rain.
