Heat.

A balmy 7°C out there at the moment.

The frost has pretty much melted now, and Im wishing that I'd gone to bed and got up early now.

We got to minus 4 overnight. The shaded areas are still frosty but the sun has burned it off in exposed areas.

A beautiful day just now and up to 4 degrees outside.

8oC out there currently.
Its not set to get any warmer, under the clear blue skies.

The local online press are saying they are dusting off the gritters for tonight, but it's not set to go below zero, certainly not for a few nights.

Just hit 0 degrees here. Beautiful evening though, stars are like car headlights.

+2 here, the stars are out, but there is also light pollution, dimming them.
Oh and the battle of the Somme has just kicked off again.

The map is saying +2 but when I went to check on the hogs food, just before midnight,
the grass is sparkling and crunchy Brrrrrrrrrrr

When I looked out about 3am ( I "needed" to get up :D )
The car was iced over.

It's now been raining steadily for the last couple of hours

Beautiful here at the moment. A chilly 4 degress outside, 17 in.

One bonus of the freezing nights is that outside becomes the biggest beer fridge in the world. (y)

Our CH pump has failed after 25 years. I have a spare, but not the tools or ability to spend an hour on my knees in a cramped space to replace it. :( Going to organise a plumber to replace it.

Living room was 13 but the fire is lit and it's up to about 15 now, although there's a lot of radiant warmth coming from it. Kitchen is around 19 ish with the Rayburn running.

At least you have back up Toni.
I hope it gets fixed soon.

We have light rain and it is a bit warmer outside, 6 degrees.

Beer is now in the fridge.

They pick the best time to do that, don't they? Our boiler failed coming into the winter months last year.

Which is why we have ours serviced every November. The chap is coming on the 17th because if they're going to play up they invariably do on December 24th.:)

Ours is serviced in September, for warranty reasons, to keep it valid. Otherwise, I would hold out a month or 2.

It's apparently 8oC outside, the rain has passed for now,
retuning in the early hours, or so it seems.

It's low teens currently, we had a lot of early morning rain, and its now rather drafty out there!

Not that windy here, a nice 8 degrees outside. We're getting showers.

It's tipping down today, with a bit of a breeze. 7 degrees outside.

Very much a feet up kind of day with a brew but you'll find me in the workshop if you need me. It's not so bad out there actually.

Low teens and raining steadily, has been all day so far, not hard though.
Its a slow cooker kinda day.

Didn't get very wet while spoiling the walk this morning. TBH, it was the sweat from inside too many layers that got me more damp than the rain!

Its clear blue sky's now, it look like the rain is done for a couple of days (y)

According to the forecast as of now, I might stay almost dry on Thursday's walk too! Probably won't though.

Hosing it down out there, has been for most of the evening.

Heating's on, I'm off to bed.

A few showers earlier, in the end, 9oC
Tomorrow is looking dry and low double figures.
Looks like the rain will be returning for most of the day on Thursday.

Another band of heavy rain coming in for Thursday but they aren't sure where and the intensity of it..including winds. They..the Met Office..work on 38 models from different sources and some have the centre of the Low over the south coast which means that Northern France will take the brunt of it. Others say it will 'fill' before it reaches us and will just be a normal rainy day. The data source is the same so it's all down to interpretation.

I wonder when the next storm, Elin, will arrive ?

Back to mild and wet stuff. Rained all night.

Currently 7 degrees, rain has stopped but the clouds are heavy looking and grey.

No weather warnings at the moment according to Met Office.

I really like Scotland but for the cold and rain. My wife..from Newmilns 7 miles east of Kilmarnock, thought she might want to go back but as soon as I reminded her of the weather she agreed. It can be as much as 10C warmer down here.

Maybe the title of this thread should be renamed .."Weather" or "Current weather" "or better still, "Your Weather" ..more personal :) ..rather than 'Heat'. It can be quite interesting.

I believe the title to be ironically humourous.

I'm Welsh but I do love it in Scotland. I've been here 18 years now. When I moved up, all my mates were saying I wouldn't stick the weather. I have to be honest, in all those 18 years, I've not seen anything anymore extreme than I ever did in Wales. Up North though, is a different matter.

Newmilns, I live in the same valley.

Me too. I'm sure the heat will return, one day.

Our weather today?........... well, quite calm, relatively sunny and no rain, 6 degrees outside.

I've been to Newmilns twice and visited the old lace factory there wherfe my wife's uncle worked. Amazing. Back to seeing Victorian times. It's been demolished since. We had a meal at a hotel at the top of the hill out of Newmilns at Darvel and visited the old lace factory in Newmilns..and then a trip to Kilmarnock.

As you see,Dale..we're close to Wales . I now recall you saying you moved from there . I have no connections but love the male voice choirs and have been to the Royal Albert Hall twice to see them. There's a biennial concert with many male voice choirs together. The next one is next year April 27. Glad I looked it up. I must tell my wife. https://www.mansfieldmvc.co.uk/even...estival-concert-the-royal-albert-hall-london/

Also been to see the Treorchy MVC at St Davids Hall and a few years ago went to Monmouth to see Max Boyce...lol. I even support Wales....Rugby not football.

Just about double figures here, and calm,
and very overcast, the rain is apparently moving in, sometime later tonight.

No idea on weather, but it's cold in the unit, I can see my breath, I'm just looking forward to seeing daylight again tomorrow!! Dam these winter days :D
