Ooopsy George.
Quite a dull morning here, with sunny spells though. Damp, not raining as I type but it's not far away. Everything got a good soaking yesterday. A little breezy and currently 10°.
Sorry about that Dale ie posting in the wrong thread, I've transferred them the to correct thread.
On holiday still but we have to get out despite the north wind. At least there are periods on sunshine. June 7th and this moring at 7.30 I look out to see low grey skies with drizzly-mist over the hills and by 8.00am it's drizzling here. Something you'd expect in winter months not the first week in June. 14C..
Dale. You mentioned the Elan Valley. We skirted the western side to .Cors Dyfi Osprey centre..very close to Machynlleth. 200m to the nest is too far, even on my lens at 600m + 1.6x 7D11. plus the wind through the windows of the observation tower. Won' be posting any photos..Lol. Take a photo of the screen ..(webcams next to the nest) inside the Obs. tower, suggested a volunteer... Lol So..from there to Bwich Nant yr Arion..Ponterwyd..Red Kites feeeding centre. Heading home through Devils Bridge..now eastern Elan Valley ..Pontrhydygroes..Tregaron..Lampeter.As you say..a wonderful area..lovely scenery. Tomorrow to the coast..Ynys-Lochtyn(Llangrrannog..west of New Quay...Aberporth..further down the coast.Bought the freshest fish ..sea bass and sword fish.....we've had for a long time from an old white-haired fishmonger who visits Lampeter in his van on a Friday . Such a lovely accent..proper Welsh.

What is it with the weather this year?
Cool and blustery here at the moment, with threatening clouds.
I walked to my Kingfisher site yesterday, it's just about over a mile from where I park. It stayed dry for the walk, I even broke a bit of a sweat. I settled down on the riverbank (not the work of a minute) and let time drift by. It was well over an hour before there was a short shower, not enough to make things wet though. The time came to pack up and as I climbed out of the riverbank onto the field, I could see rain falling in the distance. Luckily, there are some old drainage pipes nearby, I took shelter in them and stayed dry but boy the rain was heavy. The shower lasted 15 minutes or so, I took my chance, still bone dry to get back to the car. My legs got soaked though from the tall grass, which is now waist height. All good fun.
Not a particularly nice day today either, much the same as yesterday really, clear spells but with threatening clouds not far away. At least the light isn't too harsh for KF photography.
Currently 11°C.
Started raining at 4 pm yesterday and it's still raining now , Apparently we have this all week .
