Now you all look just as stupid as the people you thought were stupid for fapping over nothing. Har har! There's probably some group of people posting on a photo forum saying how silly you all look
But you're here? Been some bad images posted here with great shot comments. Ok no awards but still. Stupid to write off Flickr because of that.
Flickr isn't an internet forum. It's closer to facebook, which also creeps me out. I prefer something with better interaction.
Flickr reminds me of youtube, where some guy will post some feat he has accomplished, and the responses will be "that was amazing, here check out my video..."
It's very pretentious, with obvious exceptions that are very enjoyable. But it's the pretentiousnous that makes me a viewer rather than a contributer.
Not when chained to a desk 0830-1700 today

Flickr has groups for discussion, areas to post photos etc. In principle the discussion can be just as good as a forum. Strictly speaking groups aren't hugely different to forums. As its a huge site it will get pretentious people, normal people, scary people, people stealing photos, all sorts. Nature of the net. I've been on it for years and I've made friends through it, got work from it and enjoyed it. In all honesty there are more people on TP that I don't get on with yet I stick around.
How many comments does "spanner in the works" require before it goes onto explore?
No-one knows. It depends on how interesting it is. I've seen photos in Explore with like 4 comments.
Of course not. Flickr has plenty of annoying people, but for me there are more people on TP that I find annoying because the size of the forum is smaller and they popup more often. Flickr though, well its easier to hide out in areas without them.
