Oh god I'd be binning those tanks ASAP! I couldn't wait lol

^ What's going on there? I can't make it out. Is the white stuff the "wick"?
(

Rather than using silica wick with the resistance wire wrapped around it the coil is made and just sits on top of a cotton wool bed.

lol I forgot I had an empty T3S tank. Bottom coil too so I only need to put a little bit in to taste :D It had strawberry in before though.. a very strong taste so will see how it goes! Trying wham bar first :D

Ohh interesting!

Now officially given up on the scar, it just doesn't suit me. Sticking with my Igo L for now. Got some thicker kanthal in the post today so tried my first microcoil on a cotton cloud wick in the Igo. My custard has never tasted better! :naughty:

Well Colin if you decide to move the Scar on give me a heads up. Just bought an Aga -S from Darth Vapour. From what I have read they can be a bit fussy to set up but once there they work fine. A very tidy looking Micro coil if I am not mistaken :D

I'll let you know Rich. Think what I should do is try cotton wool in it and see how that goes. Other suggestions I've had are to drill out all the holes or block the bottom holes and drill a side hole. I'm not going to start all that though, if it doesn't suit it doesn't suit.

Quite pleased with my micro coil for a first attempt. Comes in at just over 2ohm.

That is fair enough Colin, best to explore all options before giving up. Is that about 0.25/0.30 Kanthal you used? I have seen a couple of tutorials, did you you use any particular gauge needle or drill bit to wind it on?

Yep 0.3 kanthal. I found an M3 screw to wrap it around (not sure if it's a coincidence but the shelf in the bookcase collapsed as I was wrapping) left the screw in while I fixed the coil in place. Removed screw and pulsed the coil and used tweezers in between pulses to compress.

Saw the technique on one of the many 100's of videos I've watched over the past few weeks.

Oh no really? Is your strawb that was in it too over powering? Or the new kit adjusting etc?

I forgot I broke that tank last night so put some wham bar in my ego clear with new wicks. Let it sit for about 30 minutes (I forgot about it hah) and no matter what the wattage, there's taste but not a lot of it and it really doesn't taste how I remember wham bars tasting. It's been a while since I've had one, granted, but not so long I'd forget what it tasted like. It's not even close

Not bad tasting! Quite nice, actually. Just not what I was expecting. Not wham-y

Try let it steep for a couple of days if it's a fresh brew. Leave the bottle with the top off in a cupboard for a while :)

So then, I've been puffing away on my Evod kit for about a week now, and haven't really missed my cigars I have to say. Occasionally if I go out and don't have it with me, I feel the urge...I've found I tend to puff on it almost all day on and off working from home as I do :suspect:

One question, am I supposed to carry out any maintenance on it? All I've done at present is fill it up, recharge the battery and carry on puffing  I'm wondering if I need to do anything or change anything at some point....

You could try adding a few drops of distiller water or vodka. What PG/VG mix is it?

It's a 70/30 mix. Will try a bit of vodka maybe :)
I have tried it in a different clearo today and it seems to be a lot better. I'll try another juice in that new clearo to see if its that that's the problem :)

I would have a spare head handy as they do go off, you'll be able to tell as it'll lose flavour and taste burnt.

i have 2 evods on the go and at the moment 4 coils so if i change juice i wash the 2 coils and leave to dry and replace with other 2 coils.... every so often i try and buy a few coils to have in case some don't last aswell as others...

although if i'm just putting same juice in or its a juice that will blend ok with old i don't change it every time:D

Nice one Dave keep it up

Thanks guys  as it happens funnily enough it stopped working tonight! I've just changed the head as I have a spare, so will wash it out tomorrow and see if it works then.

If its mostly PG, you could dilute it with VG, although you'd need to add more than using vodka. Assuming its a 10ml bottle start with 2-3 drops of voddy, give it a good shake, then test it. Repeat as necessary.

Ultimately different atomisers suit different flavours. Silica wicks generally suit desert flavours. Mesh wicks are better with tobacco and menthols. There is no universal solution, unfortunately.

Incidentally, did anyone see the DM article about the exploding ego battery? I saw it on twitter today but can't find it now.

Anyway, it was a Vapouriz battery. Don't know if the guy was using the correct charger but he left if charging in his car overnight. It all sounded a bit suspicious to me, but its worth remembering that these types of batteries can be volatile if over-drained or over-charged. Best not leave them charging over night.

I noticed the story earlier today too. Apparently his 3rd battery which has exploded. sounds a bit fishy to me.
No doubt the story wouldn't have been given as much column space if it had been a lithium battery in any device other than an e-cig.

Care should be taken when charging any battery and should not be left to charge in a car over night unattended.

They can all join my sherbet in the plates cupboard then

If you're wanting to put a new flavour in a tank, do you guys smoke it until empty? That's something that I do prefer about bottom coils...

I do Toni, but then if it is a new flavour I do not put too much in the tank to start. I use the evod miser for new stuff I have bought or made and half fill the bigger tank with what I enjoy. That is the beauty of the dripping tank Toni. such as the little Smoktech RDA In the worst case scenario you will end up throwing the wick, coil and a few drops away if you need to change fluid.

And even easier on the cotton cloud I pictured, pull the cotton out, pulse the coil and tuck new cotton underneath.

I just worry that I'm pushing the wick and will burn it out haha. Before getting the SVD, I was lucky to get 2 or 3 days out of tanks before they were burnt out.. it was one of the reasons I wanted to try new kit, no one could work out why it was happening so I wanted to try different things. It's going smoothly with the SVD so far but I'm paranoid!

Well I have not got one of those Colin, so thought it only fair you should have the honor of advising on that one :lol: ;)

This is where rebuildable atties (RBAs) come into their own. It costs pennies to recoil/wick them.

Plus the 3.7 to 4.2v you'll get from an eGo battery is quite a lot, particularly with low resistance coils. With a sub-2ohm coil you're getting around 8 watts. That plenty of power for most juices and, IMO, too much for some.

I can push the Kayfun up to about 11w, but 6w is my absolute limit with a Protank. I think its best not to get too hung up on the numbers.

The new wicks for the iclear 30 are only about £1.75 from myepack. I used to spend about £30 a month just on tanks.. quite a lot when my total monthly spend on vaping was £50-£60! So I'm not as worried about burning these out but would still like to hold it off for as long as possible of course!

For the sherbet, vanilla, strawberry, pear and wham bar I've put through it, 8w seems to be about right for them all.

I still can't work out cotton candy!

I forgot that I'd sent a quick email to myepack about the ice cream flavour I ordered. I was expecting a nice, creamy vanilla but it smelled really strongly of chocolate mint (I hate chocolate mint) so I sent him an email asking if that's what it's supposed to - I wondered if maybe it was a packaging error. Especially after talking to Trace who agreed that she would have expected a creamy vanilla.

Nope, it is indeed meant to be chocolate mint. The guy was really lovely, said he's going to update the description for it and has offered me a replacement juice. Big thumbs up to myepack!

Awww now that is nice of him... great customer service:thumbs:

That is good news Toni, I might order a few myself for the iClear. If I may say so myself, my first Vanilla Custard has turned out really well. So much so I will do 80ml of it tomorrow :D

That is make another 80ml not vape it :lol:

80ml is a good sized shot!

Got confirmation today that I'm off to Brussels for a couple of days to meet half a dozen MEPs and, hopefully, persuade them that medicines regulation is a bad idea. The Save ECigs campaign is funding the trip, as a follow up to the one Dave Dorn (of vapertrails TV) did just before the vote was delayed.

It'll probably be our last chance to meet formally with members before the vote on the 8th. Will be taking half a dozen devices, to show the range that's currently available and, if I can get one in time, a leaf tobacco vapouriser (which is classed as a "novel tobacco product" and would have almost no regulation).

Wish me luck. [gulp]

Forgive my ignorance John, I had no idea you were involved that much with it all. Don`t know what to say other than good luck ..........:thinking: Oh and bring us back 200g of Golden Virginia :D

 Well done John, hopefully it's a successful mission. I'm sure you'll put our points across in an eloquent persuasive manor.

Good luck John!

Well just had my first 0.0A issue with the SVD.. happened half way through a tattoo appointment and I had no idea what it was so had to go without until getting home now.. turns out I was just screwing the tank on too tight
