You're not being a pedant, I appreciate it because, like I said, I'm struggling a bit. I had changed both via this chart https://store-549f5.mybigcommerce.com/product_images/uploaded_images/voltagechart-lg.jpg if that makes a difference? I don't know.
But with the sherbet and pear liquids, I had it on 4v and 8w and that worked.. so if I changed that to, say, 6w the SVD would automatically change the voltage to something suitable itself? Should I put it back on 4v like before then change just the wattage from there?
Sorry if I'm hitting off a brick wall! I've used an ego-t for nearly 40 weeks, this vw/vv is a big change. :shake:
No, you shouldn't set it to 4v then change the wattage. Forget setting the voltage completely. In watts mode it works out the voltage for you. Forget the chart. That chart just shows you the range that can be achieved by setting either the watts or volts. It's not physically possible to set both.
It's not as big a change as you think. With your ego battery, you get a fixed voltage, which gives you a certain wattage dependant on the resistance. So low ohms = more watts. The SVD gives you option of changing the watts, either by changing the voltage input (in VV mode) or by setting the target wattage and letting the device work out the voltage for you (VW mode). It can only be in one mode at a time.
V x V /ohms = W
