The TP 52 - 2025 Disney93 - 52s 2025 - Week 52: Happy NEW Year!

Two nice pix :)

I like the cat shot. I don't think that an image has to be perfectly sharp to be good.
Your broken cashews are great.

Thank you all for the comments!

Week 13 & 14 (Texture & Shadow)

Got a little bit behind, but managed to catch up before I became 3 weeks behind!

Texture was an interesting one for me, and I initially got a picture of a tree that had unfortunately taken a hit from a car (everyone all ok). But when the sun properly came out and I was spending more time in the garden, I realised all the different textures the garden has. The picture shows the materials that were used to help build a garden shed. One wall is from the back of the garage, the rough original brickwork recently repointed. Then the newer industrial bricks creating the base of the shed, before finishing off the shed with shiplap.

Week 14 - Shadow

Whilst enjoying the sun, I noticed how the sun penetrated through the holes of the little bistro table we have in the garden creating a nice pattern on the garage brick work behind it. I decided to make it black and white because the sunlight was making the concrete paving slabs a little too bright! I think I needed to adjust the white-balance setting on the camera.

Both tick the box :)

Great colours in the brick and timber.

B&W works really well for the sh adow

Week 15 - Snapper's Choice

This week we got the car professionally detailed including paint correction and ceramic coated to protect the red colour from fading. We had a small amount of rain fall over night and when the sun shone this morning I saw that the ceramic coating made the rain form into droplets. So for snappers choice I decided to try and get a picture up the bonnet of the car towards the windscreen.

I couldn't quite get the picture to be the true red of the car, its still stayed more pink than I liked.

Looks like something tasty. Nice :)

Lovely shot Sophie, I like the shallow depth of field. I also like how the image is cut in half with the dark portion sitting on top of such a vibrant colour.

Thankyou all for the comments. I apologise for not reciprocating.

I'm finally catching up on myself!

Weeks 16-18

Week 16 - After the Rain - was about to use the watering can when our pre-summer heatwave moved on and we had a dosing of rain.

Week 17 - Stairs - Took myself out to Chester Zoo to get myself caught up on the themes. So they will all have their own separate theme as well.

Week 18 - Geometry - A gorgeous Giraffe with its geometric patterned markings.

Weeks 27 - 30 (Deserted, Portrait, Vibrant & Body Part)

Finally caught up. Deserted is the local playground usually busy during the day, completely empty of an evening. Portrait is Lilly, scoping out our neighbours conifer tree. She is also wearing Titans' tracker for a while (just out of curiosity as to where she roams) because as you'll see from week 30 (Body Part), poor Titan came off worse from a fight with another local male cat, and required surgery to his ear, he is currently on cage rest. Vibrant was taken in my garden, I love how pink the flowers are.

Great work, I really like your snapper's choice subject & vibrant pic. I hope your(?) cat is ok soon!

Greats pics , particularly like vibrant (such bright colours) and portrait (cats are such natural posers).

Thank you.
Serious bit of catching up, well done and poor kitty. We've got a well shredded cat on the mend after a fight ourselves.
Thanks. Oh no! Your poor cat. I hope they’re doing ok. We had a review at the vet’s today, unfortunately another week of cage rest and the cone. More healing needed before stitches can be removed.

He seems to be doing ok although he has a neighbourhood nemesis which has made him a frequent flyer at the vets this year. I've broken up a few altercations and I can safely say he is a lover and definitely not a fighter bless him. Big, chatty, soppy and an absolute wimp. Even tried making him a house cat but he was a rescue and it started stressing him out big time.

Hope yours heals up and recovers quickly, I imagine the cone of shame is horrible in the summer. :(

He sounds exactly like Titan! The cat is also a known neighbourhood A**hole, a neighbour witnessed this latest fight. Titan was asleep under their conifer tree in the front garden, when this other cat decided to cross over from the other side of the road and attack him, no provoking no warning. We have also tried to convert him to be a house cat but like yours, the stress was too much. He's coping fine with the cone of shame, its being in the cage he doesn't like.

Week 31 - Contrast

My contrast picture is a little outside the box. This is Yuna, a gorgeous lioness who is residing at The Big Cat Sanctuary in Ashford. She is 1 of 5 lions rescued from Ukraine during the start of the war. The contrast is where she has come from to where she is now.

She was found by military volunteers in a house in 2023, where it is thought there were plans to use her for illegal breeding. She was moved to more adequate facilities however during a large-scale Russian missile attack, debris fell 300 metres from where she was living. This caused her to suffer shellshock, leading to a loss of coordination. Yuna was eventually transferred to The Big Cat Sanctuary in August 2024, and has since begun to reveal a playful and curious nature. She started to explore her environment and engage in natural behaviours like scratching trees and logs – activities that were impossible in her previous confined space. She is still a little wobbly on her feet, but is recovering very slowly.

A lovely pic, and quite a contrasting life she's had! Glad it's on the happy side for her now

Beautiful shot Sophie, I think that it fits the theme well.

Week 32 & 33 (Pet & Movement)

Week 32 - Pet
Posey the Ferret. She belongs to my Brother in Law, we look after her whenever they go away. She was found on their driveway, with a broken back leg which she ended up having amputated. Unknown history, but is very sweet. She is now an old lady but is still full of life when she comes out for walks around the garden on the harness.

Week 33 - Movement

Lilly having fun in the garden. Took a few attempts with treats to get her 'trotting' over to me with her tail up!
