The TP 52 - 2025 Disney93 - 52s 2025 - Week 52: Happy NEW Year!

Number 1 of the cat black and red.... nice

I like the curtains on the B+W shot as well cant make up my mind if its a shadow or the design.

Great stuff - you picked the right shot for me certainly.

I think that you chose the right shot Sophie. I like the colour version of the blinds better than the b&w version.

Week 5 - Snappers Choice

The weather became very bright today, and my sister is visiting, so we decided to pack a rucksack of snacks and warm drinks and went for a walk to the local Red Squirrel Reserve to see if we would get lucky. Turns out my sister has eagle eyes, and spotted this little gem! He or She was a very quick mover through the trees, and I did not think I would get a decent picture, but again luck was on our side!

Squiggle in the light - super shot!

Good eye Sophie, I like how you've caught him (her?) moving into the light.

Perfect timing - nicely done!

Great picture and nice rich colours.
Thanks Dad. The colours were tweaked a bit in lightroom but overall very happy.

Squiggle in the light - super shot!
Thanks! I was extremely lucky! He/she was a very quick little wriggler through the trees.

Good eye Sophie, I like how you've caught him (her?) moving into the light.
I have to say that was pure luck and fluke!

Perfect timing - nicely done!
Thanks!

That's a great shot. Unbeatable sister combination !
Haha! Thanks. Yes big sis had the eagle eyes!

Terrific Sophie! Lovely capture.
Thanks Simon.

Yes, the stripey cat is brilliant and I really like the sunlit face of the squirrel!!
Thanks! The squirrel was a very lucky shot but so happy with it!

Love the second squirrel shot. Looks like it was heading down the tree and stopped in its tracks when it saw you. I'd say it's a perfect pose from such a willing subject!!

Week 6 & 7 - Silhouette & Through the Window

Bit late with Silhouette as couldn't get a decent day. So an alternative arrangement had to be made. Both cats were asleep and Lilly who usually frequents this windowsill was not obliging for me this time around so my Lego Simba became the substitute 'Cat on the windowsill silhouette'.

Week 7 - Through the window
Again with the weather not playing ball again this week, I decided to find an alternative window. My Lego Hogwarts Express contains windows showing different scenes from the films. I decided to go with my favourite book and film of the series 'Prisoner of Azkaban'. This required me to use the Macro Lens again along with the use of the tripod. Took a few goes to get the amount of light required to get the picture, and the 'Light Brick' included within the build certainly helped with highlighting towards the back of the scene.

Silhouette - I just knew that was Simba :) :)

Window - That's clever to use a lego light inside the image to provide the lighting. I like what you did.
I did have to wonder what Darth Vader was doing there though ;)

I thought it was Vader on first look too :D

Two great takes - through the window particularly is great with the internal lighting.

I like them both Sophie, really creative takes on the theme.

Two good takes :)

Darth Vader "Bonged" himself so stupid he though he was at Hogwarts.

Very Creative take on a window theme.

Thank you for the comments. I can see why some of you thought it was Darth Vader. I imagine Lego use the same piece but with just different body design.

Week 8 & 9 - Sign and Horizontal

I struggled slightly with Sign, as I couldn't think of an interesting one. Then we went for a nice long walk and I remembered the new Totem that was built. Ainsdale Totem depicting some of the local wildlife and the volunteers who help look after their habitat.

Week 9 - Horizontal

On the same walk, we came back along the beach where a few ideas came about, but I decided to go with a horizontal branch, whilst looking at the horizon.

I like how the totem pole is in the frame behind the sign and the clouds over the trees are awesome.

Thank you for the comments!

Week 10 - Pattern.

Took me a little while to decide what to do. Mr Brown has been teaching me Chess. My Dad (DB5) did start the tutoring in regards to the name of the pieces and how they move when I was knee-high to a grasshopper, and then Mr Brown has continued this by teaching me the 'Patterns' that you need to follow to try and get the other players King in 'Check', and then hopefully 'Check-Mate'.

Loves those brown tones. Monochromatic :)

Carthing up and especially like the silhouette, the fantastic atmosphere of your ' horizontal' shot and the perspective and lighting of 'patterns' . Great photos!!

Week 11 & 12 - Animal and Broken

Absolutely loved the Animal week, just fell behind due to having to work nights ( no excuse I know! ). I also wanted to have another go at using the Macro Lens. People liked Mr Browns picture of our male cat Titan so I thought I'd follow. He can be a very lazy cat, following the stereotype of sleeping for approximately 18 hours a day, ( Wouldn't that be amazing! ).

I thought when I took the picture that it looked all in focus, it wasn't until I loaded up onto the computer that I noticed it wasn't quite there. In the meantime, Titan decided that that would be when he decides to wake and go outside. So I decided to submit my not quite so perfect picture, but its all a learning curve. I think it was because I couldn't use the Tripod as it wouldn't get close enough, so I imagine despite my best efforts to give the camera a stable platform there was still some movement.

Week 12 - Broken

I wanted to carry on with the Macro theme I set myself. using the tripod this time, and also had a play with the depth of focus. I submitted the one I picked as I liked the level of blur in the background. Cashews are a nice snack/treat every now and then, especially the honey roasted ones! Yum! 'Broken' is f/5.6. 'Broken 2' is f/22.0.

Your cat shot is great and if it's a little fuzzy I think it just adds to the hazy dreamy sleepy cat vibes

Great set up and lighting for the broken theme too!!
