I'm sure your focus was spot on. f/32 and 1/10sec is your problemYou've got all afternoon to get back out there so good luck.
Andy, I think this would be well worth a re-shoot. focus issues aside, I like the thinking behind this shot, the composition is good and i like the colours too. Its all a learning curve isn't it?

Spot on now. Well done for going back. I trust bribery was involved in getting your son out to help.

Flippin' teenagers
Thanks Mike.
Number 2 boy child was very co-operative. I was going going to ask number 1 boy child but he just sulks and grunts all the timeFlippin' teenagers

I suspect it's written in some teenagers handbook somewhere
(if only they could be bothered to read it)![]()

Bribery would be so wrongI told him he'd have to walk to school if he didn't do it

Threats are always a good alternative to bribery . . . and cheaper too
I also had my fingers crossed when it was spinning round waiting for the self timer to go off

I didn't see the first shot Andy, but the reshoot is spot on
Lovely colours and composition and a brilliant take on the theme. Just the teeniest bit more space on the right to get his other foot in and the aerosol in his bag and it would be perfect.

The board next to the Stoke City one featured the other team from round here so I didn't bother with that one![]()

City were my SECOND team. Insulting my first team is sooooo cruel.
I like it, perhaps there could have been a bit more detail in the face, but then again it may have detracted from the whole concept.
You're a brave man taping your pride and joy to the roundabout (that's the camera I'm talking about, not the subject...!)
I have to ask though... and this is a long shot... but is this in Newbury by any chance...?

Moving quickly on to Week 5!
This is a real 'arty' shot, Andy, and I love it.You've caught a great expression and just the right amount of blur.
Jean
This is a really good shot, I think maybe a little more detail in the face would have been better but much better than I could have done
I also had my fingers crossed when it was spinning round waiting for the self timer to go off
Glad to see you making good use of another child this week Andy
I like this. Another unique take on the theme, and I would have loved to see the looks you got when you taped the camera to the roundabout.
I don't think that you need any more detail in the face, but my problem is that the bright white sky in the top LHS is pulling my eyes away from her. I think this would benefit from being cropped just above the top of her head.
I've had a look by scrolling down on my monitor and it's surprising how much more impact that gives to the shot.
That sounds very brave! I would have personally tried to have your daughter and the roundabout thing in focus with just the background blurred though... it would have resulted in a cleaner shot IMHO.![]()
