Hi Mr.C. Two excellent shots for Size - I like nellies but for me, the stripy ones make a more striking image. As for the gob shot, well, he doesn't look as if he's Forgotten to go to the dentist so not that; more likely then that someone has Forgotten to feed him and he's showing the proof; on that basis, spot on theme. (You'll have to try harder to get these counted as shoe-horns ha ha). Nice detail ... best seen from a distance. (y)

LOL Thanks for explaining the shoe horns to me, Carl, you do it so much better than I :D

Sizes - A couple of nice ones Chris, great vibrant colours, really like the zebra calf :)
Forgotten Love it, again fantastic colours and detail, can nearly smell his breath from this one :)
Cheers Dean, I don't know why but the Heffalumps look misty in that shot for some reason

Forgotten
:D

When I saw the elephants in the other thread I thought that would be your forgotten shot - elephants never forget and all that. Anyway size says it all and you don't get a much better gob shot than the lion.

Can not argue with Size lovely family portrait.

Incredible detail in your shoe for gob shot I really like it

LOL Good point about the Elephants Chris :D

Great size images - the elephants remind me of the parade in Jungle Book and that baby zebra is adorable! I doubt we'll see a better gob shot than that this year - fab detail!
I was a bit p***ed off with them thar Elephants TBH, the second one was holding mums tail ( just like the jungle book) as I raised the camera, and let go just as fired, bloody typical :D

Thanks guys I appreciate the kind words

Entrance - Love the lemur. The Doorway is certainly more imposing in B/W
Size - both great shots definitely on Theme
Forgotten - Great big gob shot shoe horn but it is a great shot as has already been said

Size, small, medium and large. :D

forgotten what the inside of a lions mouth looks like .... GROAN

Thanks for dropping by David

Hi Chris

Size - probably the zebra for me. Nicely spotted and taken. It seems flickr or the forum is doing its usual thing of oversharpening images though... the elephant shot especially looks very "edgy"?
Forgotten - super gob shot. I can't remember the last time you posted one of those ?? ;)

It does seem kind of erractic doesn't it?
One minute they are soft the next sharp,.. I don't know what the answer is TBH.
Although there was talk of using a different photo posting plug in for TP that was supposed to be more "stable"
as a trial. As yet its not been implemented though.

:D

Thanks for dropping by Paul

Another +1 for the Stripy Pyjama Horse shot, they pop from the image whereas the elephant shot doesn't have as much impact (no black point perhaps?)
Nicely shoehorned gob shot there for Forgotten - I don't think we've seen a gob shot for a good few weeks have we? :)

I think that's the point Tim, if its a bit hazy, Elephants always seem to be a bit bland.

I don't think we've seena gob shot for a good few weeks have we? :)
I know I'm slipping :(

Thanks for stopping by (y)

Size - Beautiful animals but elephants always my favourite.
Great lion shot

Hi, the zebra image for me its just nice isn't it :cautious:

How many gob shots do you have, it could be classed as a very unhealthy interest :shifty:

So here we have it, the biggest shorn so far.
A large Red Panda weighs about 14lb I make that a stone (y)
Yes don't look so startled you really do :D

But if I must play by the rules, how about a stone lion?

The Red Panda is a super image Mr.C. Nicely exposed and the composition with that expression is wonderful. Top shot.

Shoe horn for the win then

Cheers Carl.

With a panda shot that cute you can probably get away with the shoe horn, besides it being a very good shot I do like the alternative take on stone, hadn't thought of that one.

Love the stone lion, so in keeping with your thread, shame it's gob isn't open.

shame it's gob isn't open.
Well its tongues sticking out, its a start, I did try for the gob shot, but I think it'd been on the beer, the night before,
and it was just too stoned to cooperate :D

Cheers Chris

Well, Chris. You certainly get my mind going in all directions. This 52 is definitley enjoyable.
Must admit the eyes are gorgeous

LOL thanks Chris I try ( I'm very trying apparently :D )

To be honest I haven't enjoyed myself this much in ages. It just shows that there is so much more to the forum you just have to look outside the classifieds ! (Cost me a fortune that one!)

has to be the red panda, thats one massive shoehorn but it kind of works with the explanation :wacky: though I did look up how much a red panda weighs ;)

Love the panda! Shoehorn or not (and I think you deserve credit for the creativity of your shoehorning!) it's a cracking shot of a lovely animal. Expression and positioning is great.

Next up would be the stone lion. Out of interest what aperture did you use? Just wondering if you could get the setting sun to be even more of a starburst by closing it down a touch more - although not all lenses are friendly in this regard. Another cracking image though - really well handled and the silhouette of the bush works well. Was the lion lit or did you just lift the shadows on it (but not the bush)?

They are fat little buggers at whipsnade, Allan :D
Besides what's a pound or two when you are shoe horning anyway ? :D

Wide open at 2.8 Paul, ( 70-200 is) I tried a few shots closed down a bit, but I didn't get the effect I was after.

No lights on the lion, Paul, I did however lift the shadows a little and then slapped the bush and grass with the burn tool.

Thanks for the kind comments guys they are appreciated

Ha Ha i was wondering how you would manage a shoehorn this week and you've only gone and managed it. That Panda is lovely although I'm not sure he or she is too happy with you telling everyone their weight no wonder they look startled!

Oh and 2 good images of the stone statues too:)

Nice work boss.

that red panda is sharp ... and the stone lion shot is really well done.
(note to self: when I finally get around to doing one of those sunburst things have something interesting in the FG).
