weekly Cobra's 52 surreptitious Shoe-horns for 2016 week 52 celebrate and done

Hi, I quite like the landcover shot like what you have done with the framing all work very well except the Zebra but will excuse the bad pun as you didn't make it

Abandoned... both very nice like the angle and curvature of the building in the first picture, the land rover I like allot nicely cropped great detail nice textures supper shot(y).

I know terrible wasn't it? even I wouldn't stoop that low :(

Thanks guys

Abandoned - the building works well and having only part of it adds to the sense of it just being out of place. Well captured and made the most of the (poor-ish) conditions to get that sense of emptiness.

For the Landrover, I think it would be stronger with more of it in shot, if not all of it with space around it - to give a stronger link to abandonment. Otherwise it just looks like there's nobody in the passenger seat right now ;) Still, a good capture and well processed. I think I prefer the first one, all things considered.

Thanks Paul, its appreciated (y)

Fair point, its actually part of the ( male) Cheetah enclosure, to give the feeling of a safari
Just to give you an idea, SooC ( apart from resize of course) from another angle.

Abandoned - 2 Great Images for me the Zebra is the one as he so looks sad and abandoned

Brilliant - all of them. Like the zebra best ... has that dejected look. (Strangely, like your last posting of the landrover best, seen through the tall grass gives it that safari look).

LOL and I only posted that one for the terrible pun factor, an yet he seems quite popular.

I did consider using / processing that one, but it didn't quite out how I "wanted" for abandoned.

Thanks guys

Blimey that Zebra looks sad, he's probably thinking 'oh no, not you again. Love the ditty btw. My fave is the old elephant house. The processing really suits it

Your elephant house for abandon is a cracker, really like he processing too. Is it stood empty then, if so it seems a shame for such a building.

Well I tried to avoid the bleeding obvious this week and failed,
so I'll go with Natures "Commando" all cameo'd up, stealth movements, and shoots like a pro.

Oh and a silent but deadly one

Love the Chamelion Chris! Properly on theme....Stop it at once

(Got any pics of the exploded 1st effort! ;) )

What a beautiful creature that Commando is. Wonderful colouring - lovely shot. While Jon misconstrued the Commando caption, I momentarily mis-read the second as Silent but Violent and wondered ..... !! (Both images were entirely unexpected from a founder member of the SCC - keep taking the tablets, you'll feel better soon ... I hope).

Man flu is looming I'm afraid, loadsa coffee laced with Brandy, several packs of Max strength something or other ...
Maybe I should step away from the key board for a bit?

:D

Happy: I like the second bear you posted, the one lying on its back. It looks happy and it has a nice pose!

Abandoned: I really like the Land Rover shot with the misty background. Got a serene yet wistful feel to it. Beautiful picture. :) Especially after seeing the original photo, I think you've done a really amazing job with it! :D

I like the zebra too. You've caught a really great expression on it!

Camouflage: What a striking chameleon! For some reason, I keep seeing the lower half of its body as a 2D painted on cutout or something like that. It's weird, lol. But nice! Where did you find it? I'd like to see one of these critters for real some time! :P

And hope you feel better soon. :)

Thanks for all the kind comments Sheylara
The Chameleons are is in the "discovery centre" at Whipsnade Zoo, Bedfordshire.
But I'm sure other zoo's must have them too :)

And hope you feel better soon. :)
.
Thanks again :)

Ooh! Have to start visiting zoos, then. I went to one in Wales a couple of years ago and it was a bit rubbish (half the animals were missing). Never thought of visiting another after that, lol.

Love that you camouflaged the linky :)

The Chameleon is spot on for the theme, nicely captured

Nature ....you can't beat it can you ....fascinating how the chameleon (third attempt at spelling it !) changes colour ....how does it know what colour to be ....I think I heard on tv that it almost has 'eyes' in its skin that sense colour, how amazing is that .......the perfect choice for the theme.

Hope you don't get man flu :(

Hi the chameleon was my first choice too though I haven't been able to get to the zoo, have you lost the shoehorn?

Its not looking terribly promising on the flu front :(
Some fish also have the ability to change colour something to do with chromatophores (Sp?)
below a transparent top layer of skin, and the coloured sacs are at different levels ..
bloody clever however it does it TBH!

Have you tried putting it on tartan he....he....amazing creatures well done
Its not mine, and the zoo keeper didn't seem too keen to try it for some reason

I think it went down the back of the settee a few weeks ago, and hasn't surfaced since :(

Thanks for dropping by guys

Picture No1 for me very nice tones of greens the chameleon blends very well against the leafs in the background .(y)

Cheers Michael

Love the Cameo shot very apt and spot on theme.
Cheers Stan
That snake looks scary to me, the green one not the pinky one :exit:
LOL, That's a rhinoceros horned viper, ( one of the so called Puff Adders, they have the ability to "puff" them selves up to at least twice their size when annoyed )
You wouldn't want that giving you a nip, its reportedly the most dangerous snake in Africa.

So what happen to the shoehorn this week? :)
I'm not well :( Man flu, am I excused?

Camouflage - What can I say, again you have got it on theme, what on earth is going on :D
As above Dean, I'm not well :(
It pains me just as much as it does you of course :D

A nice camelion, despite his 'you can't see me' pose, love the light coming off his scales/skin :)
Cheers Dean  it was actually basking under a heat lamp / light, and can you blame it in this weather? :D
