Christmas 2012 Bah Humbug Thread

I was so fed up with the fact that a few of the girls in the office here had already decorated their desks, that I waited until they had left last night, and kidnapped 2 fluffy snowmen and a talking Santa doll. I left a ransom note on each desk demanding that they pay £10 each for the safe return of said tat, which would be donated to Children in Need.

If they fail to comply, I will be using a contact in the post room to help me mail pieces of the Christmas crap to them over the coming weeks.

Bah humbug!

Excellent work sir! I salute your ingenuity! :notworthy:

Well done that man:notworthy:

;0)

I'm hoping the fact that I'm doing it for Children in Need will minimise any retaliation!

You should have done a picture of one of the hostage snowmen with a gun to it's head

Lol yeah, that would have been great. Mind you, there is still time.....

Or a video of a lookie likie being fed into a paper shredder!

I'm going to New Zealand for a well earned break.
I'll be so engullfed in my photo shooting that I will escape all the crap that this season throws at us. 25th Dec. will hopefully be somewhere remote with me and my partner in the campervan.
If all we have is beans on toast and a bottle of NZ red, so be it. Bliss.
Mr Humbug.

There is nothing nicer than looking out on Christmas Eve night when everything is prepared & ready for the festivities to follow. It is somehow a magical, peaceful, quiet time!

You're in the wrong thread mate, you want this one.

;)

No excuse. Don't make us punish you :bat:

X has been used as a symbol representing christ for longer than christmas has been celebrated. Apart from the fact that it's now believed to represent the cross, X is also the letter Chi in the Greek alphabet, sounding in Greek like ch (as in loch rather than cherry). In much the same way as we today sometimes sign ourselves as an initial, it's entirely possible that the man himself may have signed himself (in shorthand) as simply X.

Ooookie dokie then
Still bloody annoying :)

I was just in Halfords where Maria Carey's voice was warbling loudly over the air...All I Want for Christmas...grrrrrr. Didn't complain though as I walked out with a free bike wheel (it's the small things in life that give me pleasure  ).

Er, that would be in Aramaic then would it Nod? ;-)

Anthony.

AFAIK, official documents in that time were in Greek (even in the Roman empire). Even I'm not old enough to remember!

Going to be giving Light Dome photography a go Ruth?

I've been working on Xmas forecast logistics since June :bang:
A week before Xmas and we move onto Easter ordering :bonk:

It's known as "the c-word" in our house. I hate the whole build up and wish it could be cancelled.

Went to the gym last night and they'd put their decorations up already   . I mean, we haven't even had Thanksgiving and they are ready for the fat man in the red suit with the white unkempt hair already.

Not sure why Santa won't be coming to any of you miserable lot this year ;)

He's far too busy wrapping presents and stuff to worry about this thread :D

There's a time and place for Xmas....and it isn't September, October or November ;)

Well, I look forward to possibly...maybe...perhaps seeing them then ;0)

I got domes! Crappy, but domes!
I have spent the morning refining the "hardware" (weighting, better spindle etc.) and as long as the rain holds off, tonight will be attempt number 2 :)

Incidentally, Screwfix this morning was refreshingly Christmas-free :)

I hope it was a good one ie be-spoked :coat:

HEHE, that one tickles the giggleflex.

Christmas is definitely for kids, watching and playing with them I can do.

Having to smile and be pleasant to those relatives who you would happily **** on the graves of I DESPISE having to go through.

Jesus H Tapdancin' Christ, they've got the christmas songs on already in the shops :bang:

It must be murder working in these shops with Maria Carey "all i want for christmas" and "Frosty the snowman" on a perpetual loop for 5 weeks.

So this is the wrong thread, time and place for me to announce that I have completed purchasing all Mrs Z's pressies meaning all I have to do now is sit back and pour several drinks with the odd sausage roll and mince-pie thrown in :D

Christmas shopping tip - elbows - use them - gets you to the front quicker
