"Care To Dance? (Rebecca)"

The Dance Studio that my girls attend are having an 'open-weekend' this weekend, and the girls are doing some dance demonstrations. Todays was Rebecca's.

managed to catch up now :) really liking the ds shot , great picture considering the iso aswell

You want to be careful Chris. This could end up as chillimonster junior's self portrait 365! :D You could have flipped it though. ;)

I thought about flipping it, or even taking a picture of her taking a picture, but she wanted to see herself in the mirror

I love the way she's holding the camera, shutter button upwards instead of down

Theoretically this isn't part of your 365?? You didn't take it!! :p

Its the same cack-handed way i hold it in portrait mode

And i'll take credit for it as i set it all up and all she had to do was press the button :D

Really... If I don't have my battery grip on the camera, and I want a portrait oriented shot, I would have the shutter at the top too...!!

I'd say Caitlin has this the right way up :)

"Easter Bonnet"

Its the Easter Fair at Caitlin's school tomorrow and there is, as there is every year, and Easter Bonnet Competition. Caitlin has decorated this one to enter into the competition tomorrow.

Awwww!!!

Nice Focus and DOF, nice ISO as well. ;)

Makes me miss all the fun things I used to do as a child, seems so long ago.

Thanks JD :)

I'm up at the Easter Fair at school tomorrow afternoon, so expect another Easter Themed shot for tomorrows entry ;)

:) Thanks Sean

I regularly think about selling up , but recently i've been extra skint so thought about it a bit longer than usual (probably down to lack of enthusiasm just like you :( ) Still, I decided to keep the D700 though. I'll probably just end up selling my 28-75mm lens as it's not been used as long as i can remember and replace it with a 85mm prime as i'm loving the 50mm 1.4 at the moment and its suiting my style of photography at the moment.

The Hi -ISO of the D700 never ceases to amaze me when i have to use it. I dont remember the 40D being too noisy at 800 when i had one for a short while and was regularly shooting at ISO 1200 ish wide open at 2.8 on the sigma 70-200. I think it struggles when you underexpose and then pull up the shadows in PP though.

"(Do the) Mashed Potatoes"

Caitling School held a special assembly as it was the last day before the two week easter break. During the assembly the children showed off some of the dance routines they had been learning over the past few weeks.

Caitlin is far-right on the picture

Yeah they are really good about it, even when i get the D700 and 70-200 out :D

There is a new head that started at new year, so i introduced myself at the easter fair earlier in the week and explained what i do and asked if she minded. I have her blessing which is great if i was to ever get questioned by a parent. That plus the simple question i have for them "I've been CRB'd this year - have you??"
