"The Smiliest Swinger In Town!"

Spent a few hours over at the canal in Diggle (Saddleworth), and Rebecca had loads of fun on the tyre swing they have there, then they all enjoyed a home-made ice-cream from Grandpa Greenes ice-cream shop on the canal bank :)

Great angle, I've tried to get good shots of my 2 on swings in the past and it's not at all easy.

Thanks.

Full frame and 17mm fully open certainly helped.

You'll find the 5dMKII will open up whole new avenues at the wide end over the coming months :)

"Caitlin Meets Kylie!"

Went to Reddish Vale Farm today (as we do throughout the year) and fed the animals some carrots. Its a great litle farm and lets the kids get close to all kinds of animals from the usual sheep / pigs / goats / cows / chickens to more exotic animals such as Llama's and Alpacas.

Caitlin is pictured feed Kylie the Shire-Horse, who is really friendly (and cheeky as she'll nugde you for carrots if you stop feeding her!) and in a word H-U-G-E!

If you're local to stockport its well worth a visit, and its 100 yards from Reddish Vale Park.

That's a great shot Chris, but, being brought up working on a farm, I can't believe people actually go to them for a day out!!

It's probably a good day out but I just remember a lot of hard work!! :)

I know, but the kids love it so what can i do

Thanks Marc.

According to the 'fact-sheet' next to the horse Kylie is 17.1 hands high (if that means anything to you )

Yep. Actually, for a Shire that's not massive. I used to know someone with a Shire which was 18.2 Hands.

The measurement originates from literally using the hand as a measure, in this case the width. Officially a hand is four inches so 17.1 hands = 17 hands + 1 inch. This measurement is taken up to the horse's withers so, up to it's ears, it's even taller! And thgere's your lesson for the day! :D

Glad to be of service. :D

Love the greenhouse shots, built a few of those myself. Sue is actually out in the garden utilising one just like that as I type.

Thanks Marc. The girls are really looking forward to growing their own Tomato Plants. Let see how long it lasts

I gotta get one of them if you can grow chillies in 'em!

I've been growing chillies on my kitchen window ledge for years, but its getting to the stage that the plants are blocking out the light to the kitchen so it was time to move them outside for the summer :)

Got around half-dozen chillis on them at the moment, with a few more just coming through

BTW - the mini-greenhouse in the pictures was from Wilkinsons - cost around £10 all in

"The Games People Play!"

We had a bit of a Wii Gaming session with Rebecca this afternoon, and played Bowling and a few Games Of Tennis. Kerie won the Bowling and I won the Tennis :)
