Bolton Abbey - Sun 26-11-2006

Ooohhh I wish we had a 2nd car.... BUM!

hmmmm I dont think we were planning on leaving here till 7:30ish. I'll check with the Boss, more thank likely we'll go straight to the car park though, I dunno.

Well I *might* be there at about 8ish. I'm getting up at about 7, so it depends how quick I put the kettle on, throw a flask together and get in the car.

I aint ducking because of the threat of some light rain ;)
(That's what weather.co.uk says anyway).

All the weather reports I've seen today mention a possibility of a little bit of rain early on, then during the day mostly cloudy, and then rain from teatime onwards, so we *should* be OK.

Will check on here before I go in the morning, make sure the trip is still on...lol

Jimmy, where exactly will you be? If I'm there early enough I'll hunt you out first (And what do you look like / car etc...dont want to be approaching the wrong person at 8am on a Sunday morning...lol)

I've decided i might be a late yes and meet up on the roads etc. Just drove back to skipton from Leeds Bradford airport (was only about 1m from B.A) and it was dry all the way although roads a little moist *hopefully* it will stay the same. to the weather gods so far. If you see a big fat youngish bloke in a wheelchair or driving a new focus (silver) who looks cold, tired and miserable thats probably me. :D

We're setting off in the next 30 mins or so, I'm cold and tired.

the more the merrier Reg, we'll keep a look out for you

Torrential rain here at the minute  Hope it's not gonna follow us up north. Just waiting for it to ease off before we leave....

Don't bring it with you!

Hope to see you sometime this morning Cheyrl, if the rain is bad though don't worry about it ;)

*yawns* That sunrise wedsite seems to be as much use as the weather forecast, sun aint supposed to be up for another 20mins, but I can see blue sky! (well through the clouds I can) - see you all in a bit!

well here i sit outside the carpark at the abbey. sunrise is cr@p, too much cloud but at least its not raining (yet). cup of coffee time

i'm sat next to barry, we've just finished eggs gammon and chips. I had a warm scone with jam too, it was yummy. there won't be any stepping stone pictures or mishaps as they are under 2ft of water. its cold too. good meet so far, people keep looking to me as leader, that's a mistake if there ever was one.

Bolton Abbey was fun, but bloody hard work in the wheelchair lol. Im glad i decided to go along at the last minute. It was nice to meet everyone in person and hopefully we will have at least 5 good shots between the 10 to 15 of us that were there to show off on here ;)

Glad the weather held up with only a few splashes now and again of drizzle though it was so cold! I'm now off to rest my arms with a hot cup of coffee.

:thankyou: :D

Ooh pass us a Scone Matt! :)
Glad to hear youre all enjoying the meet. Would have loved to come too but knew I wouldnt have hacked the weather so no point even going there.
Look forward to some pics when you all get home.

wow I am tired! Just got back (after popping into Burger King to re-ballance the healthy walking). Was a great day, though I have WAY too many photos, gonna take me a while to go through all those.

Hope you lot who walked to The Strid made it before dark, it seemed like an awfull long way to me.

Anyway, excellent day :) nice to meet so many of you, though I have no idea who I have met or anyones names :| (apart from Marcel and Darksaber)

Good to meet you all albeit briefly, I left around 3.30pm and have just got home, I had to dash around and get away early-ish as I now have to drive down south.

I'm looking forward to seeing all the piccies, I'll sort mine out when I get home Wednesday.

That's a blooming long drive youve got before you then mate :)

The weather was pretty much sport on to be honest, cloudy in the morning so the light was crap, it was a nice sunny afternoon though.

We kinda lost Renee, Jimmy and a few others when Cheryl arrived, they were there one minute and gone the next, so sorry about that. We went into the church and took some piccies then headed back to the car park, went up to the next car park and took a walk up to the valley of desolation.

It was very desolate, I'd decided to wait with Barry and Marianne for Cheryl and Dave and then they all decided they were going back to the abbey to take photos of the sunset so I had to trek up to find Marcel, Sue, Wetsparks and Steve on my own, but I found them and we all went back to the Abbey and then went back to the car park and said goodbye.

It was a good meet, I'm just sorry I wasn't a little more organised, I didn't have a clue where we were going or what we were doing. I enjoyed my scone though :D

Well the 4 of us decided to go to the strid. We are very happy we took the cars as it is not close! So maybe we'll have some different pics to share as each group did something a little bit different. I had a blast meeting all of you though your names escape me!

Ah! we thought you had decided to walk up to the Strid thing - so we went on ahead. Ah well at least we didnt all end up with the same shots.

Was a good day, I think it was perfectly organised - very laid back and a good Sunday outing ;)

Ahhh we got back to the car park and presumed you'd gone home!

We didn't quite make it up to the strid, I think we tried to though, maybe next time.

My feet are tired, cold and achey.

Was great meeting you all today
Sorry about getting split up with Renee, Jimmy and the others, and not getting chance to say goodbye (and to you too Diane and Jimmys Friend ) so sorry about that :)
(Love renees accent by the way...one of those accents I could listen to all day :D)

Looking forward to seeing all your shots. I've just got back in, 5 minutes ahead of the predicted Tom Tom time, and my lovely wife has prepared and made a stew, perfectly ready on time, so I must dash.

Will be back on after tea :D

Was nice to meet everyone one

Home safe and sound, and in plenty of time to enjoy the evening before work tomorrow, just need to defrost, tea ordered:)

Downloaded photos from camera, hmmmm maybe a couple of reasonable ones, will have to see. Will post a couple later.

Thank you everyone for a nice day.

mmmm Mozzerela, tomato and basil panini #59 (just out of interest was I the youngest yet highest numbered? - madness!)

Have had a quick flick through my pics - got lots of blurred shots :( damn trying to be clever and do quite a few shots on fully manual :(

Here are a few just to prove we were actually there:

Not the best picture I know.

we have just got back...it really was a lovely day and the weather was kind, sunny and a bit cold (I think we missed the worst of it by arriving about 11.30!)
Matt, I was teasing you about the organising of the agenda, the way the day went was just fine, you should have come on the shoot that Barry and I organised last year in Cambridge. It poured and poured and there was nowhere to go so everyone came back to ours and I made tea and scones with strawberry jam and clotted cream :) We felt dissorganised then to say the least!

Renee, it was lovely to hear your accent, sorry I never got to chat to you too much....wasn't everyone so nice though, smiles all round :)

Going to look at my photos now....

Thanks for a great day out peeps!

Nice to meet you folks, even if I cant remember everyones name.
