How true this is. I'm over weight. I do a physical job and judo training at least once a week but I wasn't loosing weight. So I'm doing the slimming world diet with a lot of help from my wife who is also doing it. But for me to do a diet constantly I, like many others, would just get fed up and give it up. So Saturdays and Sundays are 'free' days when we can eat what we want, but just be sensible. This really helps because it gets me through the week. Sure it means I'm loosing weight slower but don't they say the slower you loose it the more chance it will stay off?Exercise is for fitness, diet is for weight control.
Whilst exercise can help assist weight loss, without changes to your diet exercise alone will have very little impact.
This is why it's important to watch what you eat AND exercise.
The number of people I see putting on facebook that they're trying to lose weight, do an exercise class/go to the gym and get a McDonalds on the way home..... :banghead:
It's highly unlikely the exercise they've done would have burnt anywhere near as many calories as they've consumed although hopefully their fitness would have improved![]()
One thing I will say to people though is that I've had an illness since I was ten. it is something that relapses and was treated with a steroid called Prednisolone, asmatics sometimes use it, until they finally found a better drug for me. But at times I was taking 90mg, that's 18 tablets, of it. It's nasty stuff and gives you loads of side effects such as water retention, constant hunger, and steroid induced diabetes. So if you see a fat person please don't assume it's because they're lazy or gluttonous.
