???? that looks identical...do you know anyone thats used itCheck out the Andoer one on Amazon, £15.99 !!!
Oh well that was short lived cant cope with the lansky..lol well too fiddly and rods are like bananas and stones hit the tip of the clamp on lower angle settings! Returning it to amazon. Not sure what to get now..like the edge pro but also like the look of this http://www.heinnie.com/kme-sharpening-system-diamond-stone..Was even toying getting the sharpmakere and the extra ulra fine rods but not sure I would see much improvement over the crock sticks tbh. Going to have a chat with Nick at HH tomorrow see what he recommends.
Waiting for hughs review on that one..I thought you would have had a go at that Andoer one?

Aris knife 2 finished 2nd 1 by Alf Branch, on FlickrSpoke with Nick at HH today and he thoroughly recommends the spyderco sharpmaker..He said the crock sticks are also very good but the spyderco will get you a sharper knife. If you need to re profile then obviously a lansky or other rod system would be needed to create a new angle.Must admit the wicked edge pro pack would be nice to own but have to be realistic so may just get the sharpmaker. If nothing else at least I can do serrations and some tools on it.

Your choice
Lansky only offer 20 and 25 degrees and most stuff I have read says between 15 and 25 degrees for knives, so I wonder why Sharpmaker have such an acute angle?
I've never used the Sharpmaker but I gather the angles are 30 and 40 degrees inclusive, which will give you 15 or 20 degrees on each side. The Lansky crock stick angles are 20 and 25 degrees each side, which is probably the more traditional way of putting it. You can get it down to around 15 degrees by fastening a pen/pencil under the block with a rubber band and tilting it.
I would guess for kitchen knives?
Thats per side mateKitchen knives are usually 20 degrees or less, Hugh.
