AndyMc133 My52's 2011 updated Week 40 - 44

I'm with the others on the focus point... excellant choice for object, but it just looks so dulll... its golden... let is shine..

Hiya Andy

I'm going to have to agree with the others, you haven't quite nailed the focus on this one.

However an interesting object and I hope you are not in pain now the offending object has been removed.

My first thoughts when I saw the pic was 'ouch' and then 'Oh my .... what big teeth you have' :D

Cheers

Dawn :)

Yes I struggled to get focus right on this one think it was because it's not a very big thing to focus on and I had to crip it heavy.

Belive me though it's better out than in. Now the bit not for the squeamish I was in so much pain as it was getting loose I pulled the crown out myself but I did leave the dentist to remove the tooth underneath

Hi Andy

Great idea for Object but like someone else said I'd not got a clue what it was till I read your script :)

I'm off to the dentist soon to have one of those fitted...after reading your commmenst about pain I'm having 2nd thoughts !

Week 15 - Wrong

DSC04829.jpg

I was struggling a little with this weeks pic then I noticed my son's Rubic Cube next to my PC which when you look at it is about as "Wrong" as it could be

Hiya Andy,

The re-shoot of the crown is great, much better. Serious sensor clean needed though ..... loads of dust bunnies visible (unless it is just the background with marks as I can't see them in your 'Wrong' photo).

Onto week 15 .... now that is something I was going to originally do, but as I have already taken a photo of the cube for my 365 I thought I'd do something different (still working on it though).

Both fab photos.

Cheers

Dawn :)

Hi, Andy, I've never been able to finish them damn things!

It would have been great if you could get all but one tile in the correct place...:)

Cheers.

Hi Andy

love the cube , great idea & well taken , fits the theme perfectly  & brings back memories of trying to get it right !

Your reshoot of Object is much better as well , great focus & color

ps....you interested in coming along on the meet ? see the thread if you fancy it :-)

Was well worth the reshoot Andy as it's now a much better image. Cube was a very good idea for this weeks theme. Bit more time taken on setting up the shots on a spotless white background would improve both. Had a look at the exif details to see the aperture for both shots to try to figure out if the dust was on the sensor or not but both shots are reporting f1?
Golden colour in your reshoot is much better than the first take and the colours on the cube are great too.

That explains it then. Thanks, I thought there was maybe something wrong with my exif reading software.

Week 16 - Paradox

DSC05002.jpg

Is this a picture of Vulcan XH558 looking rather out of place at Doncaster Robinhood airport.

or

Is it Vulcan XH558 parked up at it's old base of RAF Finningley where it was based during the cold war as part of the Quick Reaction Alert (QRA) V Force.

The Paradox is both are true

Andy, like the shot of the Vulcan, fine plane.. but for me missing its wing tip was awkward... but subject is fitting with the theme...

Kev

Had to shoot the pic of XH558 through perimeter fence so difficult to get all her wing in also lots of airport stuff around her that day, Shame no other planes around she would look very odd next to a passenger plane as she is parked at the main terminal

I too was going to mention the clipped wing, glad I didn't now. Excellent shot for through a fence, hadn't really thought about where you were with the camera until you pointed it out.

Hi Andy, looks a tad dark to me maybe brighten it up a bit to make the white of the petals stand out more. Nice detail on the the plant and good dof. Maybe try a spritz of water on it you can't beat a close up flower shot with small water droplets.

Hiya Andy,

Ooooh I like that and is something I can relate to (sorry no offence meant by that, it's just I don't know much about planes so I always have to think hard when you post a photo of a plane to how it fits with the theme ) and I love flowers, so this one has been easier for me.

It definitely fits the theme and is such a beautiful Orchid. To me is looks a little soft, but having said that it sort of adds to the delicateness of the flower.

I like the DOF, but would have preferred less shadow on the flower. What lighting did you use? Flowers like these also make interesting subjects to photograph from different angles.

But, overall I am very pleased to see this photo.

Cheers

Dawn :)

I only realised early hours this morning I hadn't posted yet for this week I had ment to call in at my cousin's hose as he has tropical fish but with working all week never got a chance.

So at 1.30 this morning took the pic of the orchid I used my fav 50mm manual lens hand held with only the light from nearby table lamp.

due to not using more lights and not using tripod DOF is shallow but I like how it came out

Week 18 - Power

DSC02213.jpg

Just take 1 jet engine & 1 Quad bike and add 1 crazy Dutchman

result

Pyromaniac, as well as his homebuild jet-quad

Flames are a tad blown....

OOOhhhh, I'd like a go on that.

I saw a car with a similar set up a while ago and it had a car behind it...turned the engine on and totally blasted the car away. Amazing.

Well done for being so quick!!

Cheers.
