Jessops have them all listed on their website for pre-order
The examples I've seem so far have all been OOC jpgs. It reminds me of the early a850 reviews that concluded that noise was a problem over ISO 400! Shooting in RAW, and using a 3rd party app, gives me usable results up to ISO2000.Fozzybear said:Slightly worried about the early images from the A77 at higher ISO's. There's noise apparent as well as loss of detail. :shake:
Also bundling with the 18-55, doe we really think that lens is going to do the 24mp sensor justice?
they are shooting jpeg & certainly most sites mention pre-production firmware.Slightly worried about the early images from the A77 at higher ISO's. There's noise apparent as well as loss of detail. :shake:
Price is about right, I think the 700 was around the same when it came out, there may be some specials around just before or after xmas. The body looks really impressive. I think its expensive though and the Lens lineup is generally disapointing by all accounts. They need to do something about Lens size too.
Whats wrong with Sony's lens line up, not forgetting you have access to all the minolta af glass as well and what do you mean need to do something about lens size ???
with the new 16-50/2.8 & the 500/4 whenever it finally gets released at least for APS-C it will be a pretty decent line-up.Obviously they need to make a stretched 300 f/2.8 to have a 400 f/4 or 500 f/4.5...![]()

there is already the 16/2.8, supposedly Tamron & Sigma were making some stuff for E-mount & it will take virtually anything via adapter if you are happy with MF (peaking is supposed to be very useful). Will they do any pancake lenses or can you use an adapter to fit something a bit more ergonomic?

I was talking about the NEX-7. It is too expensive, its price cuts right into very nice DSLR money. I don't think there is enough of a market for it at that price point so I would expect price cuts. I am definitely still very interested in it, I just don't think there are any stand-out lenses in the lineup. I mean, look at M4/3. Panasonic 20mm, 100-300, 14-140, Oly 12mm, Oly 9-18, 45, Pan 7-14 all really top notch lenses and some of them are very small. Sony doesnt have anything close. The 16mm is the closest I guess but I'm not seeing any superlatives being thrown around about it. The Zeiss is too big (approx 4x the size of the Panny 20mm) and is £1000.
The A Series adapter is cool but too big. Its pointless having a small camera if you are going to lug that thing around.
The whole deal with Mirrorless is to get the size down without too much of a compromise on image quality and I'm just not seeing it at the moment with Sony. I do very much love that Body though![]()
Luminous Landscape have a review of the a77 and 16-50 lens (pre production) As always I will wait and see what prices are like a few months down the line. The a77 is really looking serious now in that price bracket. I look forward to seeing a multi review done between Canon, Nikon and Sony. I can only wonder what Canon and Nikon have up there sleeves, if someone like sony can pull this out, things can only get better. I have a host of fd lenses I want to use on a digital body, the nex 7 looks ideal, apart from the price. The lens line up for the nex system can only get stronger, and imo Sony are not going to release a £1000 compact system camera and leave it as is, I think exciting times are ahead for sony users and the future of the compact system camera.

I think the NEX-7 + M-mount lenses (+ adapter) + focus peaking = a very interesting package! A competitor for Leica's M8, I'd say. The NEX-7 might not have rangefinder focusing, but with a newer sensor and a slew of useful features I know which I'd choose to spend my money on.
The D7000 and 60D easily out perform it in quality.

A77 Body Only: £1179.95
Don't really agree with you.Not all that impressed with the new sensor in the A77/Nex-7.
The D7000 and 60D easily out perform it in quality. never mind the fact that the sensor out resolves pretty much all lenses you could put on it.

It does make me wonder why Sony went for more pixels as opposed to bigger pixels for better low light performance?
