I can see that now, very odd, will have to go back to the original picture and look.

Grabbed the photo with the i-phone, a bit overexposed due to the sky, Lightroom somehow defined that particular area as discrete and then darkened down more than elsewhere when adjusting the whole photo exposure or when reducing highlights. Curious. Maybe an oddity with the .jpg out of the phone ?

Square crop to remove some empty tarmac?
 
I agree with the above comment take a lot of the tarmac out but a good street photo anyway

Two nice shots but yes -the bridge & paddle boarders is the correct choice :)
 
Nice shot of the paddle boarders, lots to look at and it all works together with the great light

Nice shots Alan. There's something slightly surreal about the contrast between the summer light and water and the harshness of the concrete and graffiti
 
Nice set Alan, I would have been torn between the seadoo and the motorbike.
 
Great pics for the week, I think I like the motorbike shot most of all, but love the representation for bike nights! Great lighting on your chosen pic
 
Good set, especially like the last shot with bike sign in background, though nice light on your chosen shot
 
I like the lighting and the views through the window.
 
The second image works for me because of the light.
