A Picture a day (My 365) . . . Made it to the End!

THe shot from 20th JUly of the two kids if fabulous, works so well in mono.

Thanks all, the shot of my girls was just a quick grab before they looked around (not much chance for getting a a good composition), but the conversion to mono and cross processing really transformed it

23rd July: The Solent Express departing the beach at Southsea, Portsmouth

Thanks Lisa, was just talking to my wife about them, fantastic machines, could watch it all day going back and forward across the Solent.

Yep, going to take the girls on it soon, think they will be amazed as they have never seen one :)

I really like the sunflower picture, cheery :)

today's picture's great too; I still haven't done a ship shot have I (although I've recently found a good spot to get one from ;))

24th July: Porchester Castle after the rain.

From looking at this photo, you would not think 15 minutes previous I was driving down the M27 with headlights on in the pouring rain, that's our crazy British weather I guess.
The 21.1 MP detail is amazing at full res, need to start getting some large prints made I think ;)

Nice lighting in that Julian. I like the Hovercraft shot too. there's a Hovercraft show on at Lee-On-Solent this weekend - I'm not sure exactly what's going on though.

Thanks Dave, yeah saw a piece on South Today this evening, 50th Anniversary of the first operational hovercraft the SR.N1 which crossed the channel on July 25th 1959 with Sir Christopher Cockerell aboard.

Wanted to show my girls a hovercraft so may make a visit this weekend.

I like the castle picture :)

We had mad weather up here too yesterday; one minute it was sunny, the next minute there was a monsoon!

You have such massive castles over there!! Love it Julian!! Never seen a hovercraft before though. Not really a boat though??

Thanks Jonny, Porchester is a good size, the castle walls cover a large area. There is a fantastic view across Portsmouth harbour up on top of that tower.

Hovercrafts are so cool, just watching it start up and reverse back down the beach and into the sea is majestic.

I like the castle picture

Thanks Kay, the light worked really well that morning

26th July: Lionfish at Blue Reef aquarium, Southsea, Portsmouth.

Back to basics today, as I only had the old 350D with the cheap nifty fifty (1.8 version). Taking pictures in these aquariums is damn difficult (plus my little angels kept running off every few second), 90% of the shots are just out of focus, or pick-up the dirt and scratches on the glass. But was happy enough with this one, not cropped and shot at 1.8, hence very narrow DoF

Ordered a Canon 50mm 1.4 last night, can't wait :)

27th July: Battlefield 1943

One of my favourite PC games was Battlefield 1942, so when Battlefield 1943 was recently launched on PSN I just had to download it (yes I'm still a big kid) :)

Oh dear we have a 'fanboy' !

I got the PS3 free with my TV, so I'm not in either camp ;) plus it's fantastic for BluRay.
