Not many photos taken on holiday. Most days I left the SLR at the holiday cottage to spend more time with the family. But first 2 days here, with more to follow later....

I love the colours in the first picture, really bright and cheery, especially as it's been so misty here all day :)

The 2nd picture is great too, interesting effect there, reminds me a bit of warp speed :thumbs:

I like the 'warp speed' pic Julian, and the boat pic is simplicity at its best.

How about a crop of the boat to show the power of that lovely FF sensor ;)

26th June: Barbican Prawn
Supposedly hated by the locals of Plymouth, this giant metal monster sculpture resides next to some very famous steps in the harbour, those used by the pilgrims to board the Mayflower

27th June: Daleks
Stopping at the Elizabethan Montacute House (National Trust) to break up the journey home from our holiday, we were somewhat surprised to see these adversaries of Dr Who guarding the entrance.

28th June: Going over the top

Taken at Bovington Tank museum (was Tankfest today, so will add some other shots with 'Tanks' later). This was a challenging shot, as I was in a life size World War I trench and very dark (ISO 3200), I had to wait for the simulated shell flash to take the shot. Processed in Photoshop (using Sumi-e filter) to give it a sort of comic book action effect.

I thinks its amazing that there is still so much detail. Just imagine where we'll be in 5 years time :eek:

the isolation shot is just stunning, ok it may need some TLC at full size, but a photo that good deserves it!

30th June: Not enough time, so I shot of the front of my T-shirt that I wore today (with the sumi-e filter applied).

I'm thinking about calling time on my 365. My new job means longer days and more research/learning, when I get home I need to spend as much time with my children before they go to bed (obviously not an issue when I worked at home). If I continue I can see myself resenting photography by having to take a picture a day, would rather take pictures without this pressure.

The issue I have is that the last 2 months I've been winding down my old job, so very little stress (happy days). Now I have a new job and I no longer work from home. I also need to get back in the zone in things related to my work, so that means doing some reading and research etc when back at home too. I went for a drive tonight to get inspiration for my 365 shot (with no success), I cannot be doing this anymore :(
 
Julian, I know what you're going through, as I have been having the same issues and thoughts. I think it's about how you perceive it though. I've taken on the view that it's not vital to take a killer shot everyday, hence putting less pressure on myself (look at some of the carp I've done recently!). How about taking the camera to work and having a walk around during your break? Or, link your 365 into your job activities if you can. Just a couple of thoughts as it would be a shame to see you give up now you've come this far. :)
 
Agree with Dave on this one Julian.

Even if it's just a 'snap' (as many many of mine are) it still counts :)
