3 today 2Y, 2G 1Y, 5G, with the placement of the greens and the discarded letters it didn't leave that many options and I just picked the most obvious one IMO.

Yes, some of the comments about the words (not just yesterday’s) are a bit mysterious. My hypothesis is that very often common words that one never writes oneself look odd when one writes them eg “denim”, so common to read but when do you ever write it?

Maybe it’s just me of course!

Trouble is it seems there are variants of Wordle available. I use the NYT version, I believe that to be the one the majority of members use (y)

Not had my best scores in the last few days but at least no fails. Getting close today. 1Y, 2G, 3G, 3G, 3G .............. too many options. Eliminated so many letters I had 2 choices left and one was so obscure I hoped it wasn't the word, and got lucky - it wasn't. Next time it will be!

Yes - but I rarely use the word "denim" despite wearing jeans pretty much every day - I call them jeans rather than denim trousers!

A 4 for me today - y, yy, gggg and only one possibility as far as I could see.

A 2 this morning :banana:

2G & 2Y on my opening word and after a lot of pencil scribbling the solution was the only word I knew that fit
