most camera shops still charge £300+ for a 2nd hand version of this. Some bargain!

can you connect it to an external monitor? If so, if the problem happens on the monitor as well it would possibly be an issue with the graphics card. If the monitor is fine, then it would point to the screen possibly.

no, they expect you to get feedback from other people. If someone helped you compose the shot or complete the post-production then that is assistance, as the image needs to be all your own work.
