Yes
I'm trying to build up my lens collection, so when I do go out, I hopefully have a right lens for the job.

So far I have a 18-250mm lens which covers a good range, so that is my standard lens.

I'm waiting for delivery on a 50mm f1.8 lens, which I'll use for portraits and the like.

Now, as a third lens, which one do I go for?

Sigma 150-500mm f/5-6.3 DG HSM
or
105mm f/2.8 EX DG Macro

I'd like the 500mm lens, as I like wildlife shots, but I'd also like some crisper shots, which I think I might get with the 105mm.

You thoughts please.

the 105mm is a great lens, but do you want to shoot more wildlife?

They're designed for two entirely different purposes, so

I know, that's the problem.......

I can use my 250mm lens for shooting wildlife, but I never quite feel like I'm zoomed in enough! Hence I'd like the 500mm lens.

However, I want something with a bit more clarity, hence the 105mm.

If I shoot wildlife with the 105mm and crop it, will it retain the clarity?

If you want to shoot macro use the 105, wildlife use the 150-500

Two completely different lenses.
