I'm thinking of getting myself a compact to stick in the car.
I usually keep my DSLR at home, but sometimes I wish I had something better than a camera phone.
I don't want to spend a lot prob around £50 or so.
I've been having a look on eBay and there are quite a few canon power shot compacts...
I'm thinking of getting a redsnapper tripod and head from redsnapper.
I'm thinking on the RS-284 and RSH-24 3-way head.
I've got a cheap £10 tripod would this be any better as my current one is rather flimsy and not very steady.
I use lightroom 4 and i've always kept the original CR2 files but I'm reading more and more about dng files and i'm wondering if it would be a good idea to start converting my cr2 files to dng instead.
I've had a search on t'internet and there doesn't seem to be a definitive answer on this...
I would go for a few smaller size cards - you don't want to put all your eggs in the one basket. At least that way if one failed you would still have alternative cards.

I've been thinking about getting a replacement battery for my 500D, but have been put off by the official prices.
Found a few at 7 day shop for under £5 which seems to good to be true.
The reviews seem good and never had any isses with them in the past...
Fuji do some good bridge cameras.
You can get them refurbished with one year warranty direct.
They usually have a number to choose from at any one time.
I was able to set the owner info on mine without any issues. I'm running windows 7 64bit. I know its a different body but it shouldn't make any difference
I hate it when companies charge for delivery to the "highlands"

Never had any issues with 7 day shop apart from them taking the seven days to deliver - but hey its in their name :thumbs:
I went for a look round pc world last night - its usually good fun laughing at the prices. I went for a look at the camera section, as usual not a lot, three or four compacts and three dslr's. I was shocked, two of the dslrs that were on display didn't have a lens attatched and neither of them...
