I would agree with others by suggesting you go for Lightroom 4 and Elements.

    Recomend me a Tripod

I got one of these a few weeks ago. So far seems good. Not to heavy and seems sturdy enough. http://www.wexphotographic.com/buy-velbon-sherpa-250r-tripod-ph157q-head/p1000280

    compact suggestions

I'm thinking of getting myself a compact to stick in the car. I usually keep my DSLR at home, but sometimes I wish I had something better than a camera phone. I don't want to spend a lot prob around £50 or so. I've been having a look on eBay and there are quite a few canon power shot compacts...

    What Tripod

I'm thinking of getting a redsnapper tripod and head from redsnapper. I'm thinking on the RS-284 and RSH-24 3-way head. I've got a cheap £10 tripod would this be any better as my current one is rather flimsy and not very steady.

    CR2 or DNG

Thanks for the info. Looks like it makes sense to continue with my current setup and just ignore dng files.

    CR2 or DNG

I use lightroom 4 and i've always kept the original CR2 files but I'm reading more and more about dng files and i'm wondering if it would be a good idea to start converting my cr2 files to dng instead. I've had a search on t'internet and there doesn't seem to be a definitive answer on this...

SD Cards - which do you recommend?

I would go for a few smaller size cards - you don't want to put all your eggs in the one basket. At least that way if one failed you would still have alternative cards. I've got two 8GB sd cards from play.com £7.79 each and 5 year warranty

    Third party batteries

I've been thinking about getting a replacement battery for my 500D, but have been put off by the official prices. Found a few at 7 day shop for under £5 which seems to good to be true. The reviews seem good and never had any isses with them in the past...

    Bridge cameraa £150

Fuji do some good bridge cameras. You can get them refurbished with one year warranty direct. They usually have a number to choose from at any one time.

Change camera owner information Canon 5D

I was able to set the owner info on mine without any issues. I'm running windows 7 64bit. I know its a different body but it shouldn't make any difference

    More trouble with 7dayshop.....

I hate it when companies charge for delivery to the "highlands" I live a few miles past Aberdeen and am routinely classed as being in the highlands.:cuckoo: Never had any issues with 7 day shop apart from them taking the seven days to deliver - but hey its in their name

    PC World And Camera Knowledge

I went for a look round pc world last night - its usually good fun laughing at the prices. I went for a look at the camera section, as usual not a lot, three or four compacts and three dslr's. I was shocked, two of the dslrs that were on display didn't have a lens attatched and neither of them...
