I'm after a Tripod, just wondered what you could suggest I'm tall - I'm 6'5" so would like something that can rise fairly high. I'd like it to pack up small and be able to unpack it quickly.

Any suggestions as what to get? Cheap would be good, under £80.

Cheers
Chris

I recently (Feb this year) purchased a Giottos MTL8361B Carbon Fibre model from WEX. Absolutely superb. Decent weight and steady as a rock. I'm 6'1 and with the head and the camera fitted, can't have the lower sections of the 3 section legs fully extended otherwise I can't see in the viewfinder (and that's with the centre column fully down).

Highly recommended.

Need to budget for a decent head on top as well.

At 200+ quid I'd expect it to be! I can't justify that much. My Camera is a 20d I got for £95 second hand. Is there nothing worth bothering with in my budget then? I currently have an Ancient Slik Tripod (my dads) but it is only about 3ft tall.

I'm thinking of getting a redsnapper tripod and head from redsnapper.

I'm thinking on the RS-284 and RSH-24 3-way head.

I've got a cheap £10 tripod would this be any better as my current one is rather flimsy and not very steady.

The Redsnappers are ok, you can of course get much better if you have the budget.....

The redsnappers are the best tripod you will get for the budget.

They are very solid, and plenty high enough. Sure, if you look closely you will see where savings have been made but they do the job admirably.

I would personally suggest anyone goes for the 283 unless then really need the shorter folded length. Stability wise the 283 will have the edge.

So, the 283 is better than the 284?

Looking for my first tripod and not sure which would be the best. I like Redsnapper and price is affordable at the moment for me.
