Black Rapid RS-7 sling strap price reduced - bargain

Many Thanks for that Russ, I just wish I could compare these 2 side by side... Very tempting as sport version is approx £56 on amazon at the moment as well. Now I feel I should have bought BR sport:bonk:

Black Rapid RS-7 sling strap price reduced - bargain

Is it the same Brad strap that one can buy for RS-7? Do you see any other benefits over RS-7 apart from that? Thanks, I was considering Sport as well, but it was selling for close to £70 at that stage. And then I forgot all about it and just bought RS-7:)

Tripod legs grease what to use

Allan, Thanks, but the price of Gitzo grease somehow puts me off;) I would splash out if I needed to grease the ball head as I think that would be its main application (and in this case probably worth it) Many thanks for link to the article, very useful.

Tripod legs grease what to use

Thank you guys, I will check this out. Although from what I can see the grease used in this tripod is not white but rather browny colour and quite sticky. What happened is that the sand accidentally got into the top section of the tripod legs, where there are little levers that can be...

Tripod legs grease what to use

Hi there, I was wondering if anyone could advise me on the tripod grease type that I could use on the legs after cleaning. It is a Giottos screw lock type carbon fibre traveler's tripod. I am sure someone cleaned their tripod? A bit of help would be appreciated.

Softbox, grids, etc for 580EXIIs - any recommendations?

If you are looking for a grid Honl Photo are good ones. I am not sure how big light modifier you are after, but aforementioned larger Apollo softboxes are great. Another small light modifier with rather smart design is Lumiquest Quik Bounce. I hope this helps.

    Softboxes (Stobist)

I was going to suggest Westcott Apollo 28". It is very portable and folds as an umbrella. Even if it is outside your budget it is really worth its price so you could maybe consider. Plenty of reviews and info on the web.

    Lighting advice please

You could go with a flash and bounce it off ceiling to avoid blinding people and especially kids. If you will not be able to bounce in situation when ceiling or walls are not white you could get yourself a stofen diffuser or something like Lumiquest Quik Bounce. The latter is really smart...

Help me pick a flash please!

Exactly, OP stated that TTL is not an issue, therefore I recommended Nikon. Out of SB series (24-28) in my opinion SB-28 gives the best bung for the buck and is close enough to his budget. Personally, I would stretch to something like Canon 430ex as TTL may sometimes be useful, although with...

Help me pick a flash please!

Nikon SB-28 is a good flash, but that would be a second hand buy. Well worth the money though. You can find plenty of info on this one. You may have too add a few quid to your £50

    Gel sheets

This seems to be a really simple and cost effective bouncing method. I need to give it a go. Would you post the link to flickr for beer can cooler or a photo of it mounted on your speedlite?

    Speedlite softbox any good ?

Here is a video showing Apollo softbox and some description. http://lightenupandshoot.net/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=3&Itemid=23 The best feature is that the flashgun is directed towards the back of the softbox and the light bounces back towards the subject. It really is...
