Hi guys. I'm thinking of buying a new flash but haven't a clue where to look. Hopefully you can point me in the direction of a few models to consider. Requirements are:

-Must work wirelessly with rf602 triggers.
-Manual control is fine. TTL/auto not required
-on camera use not required
-can be woken up from sleep mode by rf 602 triggers or sleep more can be turned off.

Any ideas?

Nikon SB-28 is a good flash, but that would be a second hand buy. Well worth the money though. You can find plenty of info on this one. You may have too add a few quid to your £50

the OP has a Canon

Like Chris says, get a Jessops if you are going manual and want something cheap. You actually just missed a sale on the Jessops gun. For £50 I think used or Ebay is your bet.

That makes no difference if you're using triggers, such as the Rf-602....

For off camera use the best options are either older Nikon flashes (SB-24/25/26/28/80) or if you want to buy new then either the Jessops 360AFD, a Nissin Di622 or the YongNuo YN460-II or YN-560.

Personally I use old Nikon flashes, regardless of whether I'm shooting with a Nikon or my wee Panasonic GF-1.

I'd get either an old 540ez on fleabay or the new yongnuo yn560.

Cos both take the yongnuo 8 cell battery pack, which until I started using one thought I would never need. How wrong can you be?

Exactly, OP stated that TTL is not an issue, therefore I recommended Nikon.
Out of SB series (24-28) in my opinion SB-28 gives the best bung for the buck and is close enough to his budget.
Personally, I would stretch to something like Canon 430ex as TTL may sometimes be useful, although with RF-602 it won't make any difference.
Please don't shout at me, just trying to help:thinking:

if i had the PM function id mail you the place selling YN560's cheap!

OK, my bad........ :bonk:
