Does anyone know where you can buy sheets of Gels say a 1' x 1' rather than the little strobe off cuts?

I've taken to cutting them up to fit over the end of the strobe and tucking a flap into the gap between the case and the built in flip out diffuser thing, works a treat but seems a waste to cut up these little strips when I can do it on a big sheet and waste less :geek:

I've used the Velcro on the end method but have now found it a pain when placing a flag over the end, I've got either a modified neoprene beer can cooler which slides snugly on or a rogue flash bender which wraps around, both interfere with a gel velcro'd over the end :)

Go to any theatre lighting supply/hire company. These are used in theatre lighting and sold by the sheet or by the roll. MUCH cheaper than buying silly little 'strobist' pieces.

a flag, whats the flag over the end , not heard of this before ?

I use a neoeprene beer can cooler after I found it on flickr but it all came from here. The idea is if youre bouncing flash but have the speed light pointing at them you can prevent the whiteout nuke effect. I'm still learning though :)

This seems to be a really simple and cost effective bouncing method.
I need to give it a go. Would you post the link to flickr for beer can cooler or a photo of it mounted on your speedlite?

The flickr thread is here but the guy that posted it has since left so the pictures have gone. They basically look like these you then cut 2 of the sides off half way down so it flags 2 sides but it allows you to fire out the other side. I'll try and sort out a photo at some point but I'm on holiday right now :)
