I know in my area, Devon there is an Exeter and Plymouth photography groups full of people just starting out. They tend to meet up once a month. Maybe worth looking in your area. I did not see the original post so have no idea what was in it
Have you thought about the grey market. Panamoz sell the XT5 for £1480 and they give a very good three year uk warranty. Canon r7 can be had for £980 or Z50II for around £700. The z5II and Tamron 150-500 would just be under £1500 if you went grey market or for a little more the 50-400.
Not sure that would ever happen but road tax needs to be looked at. It should start at £100 not £0. So many cars pay nothing or next to nothing. I drive a 2 litre VW Passat diesel and it's only £35 a year to tax. That's crazy, no wonder our roads are in such a bad state. If the government...
For people with no off street parking the cost are so much higher at 450% to 690% higher than charging over night at home. If the Government are serious about getting people with no off street parking to go electric this needs to be looked at. I understand it will always cost more but it needs...
I did use E-Infinity for years but when I needed to make a claim on warranty it was not great. Basically my A7iv needed a new sensor and they told me to send it to Sony for a quote. I did this and it came back at £630. E-Infinity said that was too much and would only pay £400. They did give the...
Not sure the X-s20 is for me, I own a Sony A1 and A9 if I just want a practical camera. So I am looking at the retro styled bodies. I have heard amazing things about the kit lens which I think I would get especially if I get a none stabilised body. I shoot 60 weddings and 60 corporate events a...
I'm a Sony shooter for work but I am thinking of getting a Fuji for non work. Fuji say they will send me 5 bits of gear for two weeks to try out. I was thinking of the X-T5 and X-T 50 with a standard f2.8 lens. Any other lenses I should try, smaller the better. Nothing longer than 50mm . Came...
Not photography but if you love military history this guy is amazing. Some of his videos get 6m plus views and he has not been going long. https://www.youtube.com/@the_fat_electrician
Jared was a concert photographer but now makes most of his money from pre-sets. I photograph a lot of corporate jobs in London which is a 3-4 drive away and listen to his pod cast on the way home. Very little about photography but it can be funny and keeps me awake. Some of the photography...
I've used wex and calumet for years. Just a shame your Bristol store is in the ULEZ zone so I no longer visit. I would always walk out with something i did not need :)
I bought a Nikon Z8 and 50mm f1.8s thinking i would move to Nikon. Ended up selling it and buying a Sony A1 which i should have done in the first place.
We all shoot weddings differently so style does come into it. At asian weddings as you noted there are a lot of staged group shots. If inside using bounced flash you could get away with the 16-35 but it's all the other moments from reportage to walking down the aisle you may miss the 24-70. Go...
