Hi All,

Currently got a Fuji X-T2 and the XC 50-230mm f/4.5-6.7.

I find the lens a bit short and slow at the long end.

The camera body is feeling old in terms of AF, it's pre-AI cameras and whilst it can track people and eyes, it has no ability to track a plane in the same way some modern cameras do.

I have looked at the X-T5, they come in around £1400 refurb just now, I love the feel of Fuji cameras but I am happy to think about alternative systems going forward, I have previously used Olympus (E510) and Nikon (D300s) back in the day.

Budget is a prohibitive thing and I am keen to go used from a reputable dealer like Parks or Ffordes.

What sort of bodies and lens combinations are recommended for fast continuous AF, high FPS shooting and high image quality, even in poorer light.

Thanks!

I use my XT3 and it's been fine - certainly fast enough. Normally have used with Fuji 100-400 which is heavy but a very good lens. Shooting prop planes while panning at 1/250 at FF equiv 600mm means a lot more misses than hits but it's good. Now I just have the 55-200. Its ok but a bit short.

If budget allows, get the 100-400 and an XT3, if not get XT3 or maybe 4 and then the 55-300?

Have you thought about the grey market. Panamoz sell the XT5 for £1480 and they give a very good three year uk warranty. Canon r7 can be had for £980 or Z50II for around £700. The z5II and Tamron 150-500 would just be under £1500 if you went grey market or for a little more the 50-400.

I find the Panasonic G9 (original model) with the 100-400mm (also the original model) adequate for my needs but there are many other possibilities.
