I just purchased a 300 f/4 non IS USM prime lens. Lens is sharp, so no problems with that. Only down side of the lens is that the hood is loose. As it is a pre IS lens, and therefore pretty old, the friction it relied on in the past is gone. The hood will move whenever you tilt the lens either...

I have used Phottix grips for both my 350D and 40D and have had no issues whatsoever. A tad bit more than the price mentioned by Alanem, but worth a view.

As I'm from the Netherlands ( just recently moved to Aberdeen) I can give you a genuine answer. I have used them in the past. They provide excellent service and are indeed a legitimate company. It is one of the three largest online photoshops in the Netherlands. Erik
