...hopefully different because I'm after a multipurpose bag that I can use on a daily basis.

The scenario is that I got a free LowePro Slingshot with my camera. This tends to hold everything (a struggle now though), but I would like what I will call a 'day' bag. Designed for me to carry into work and around town. A manbag, if you want, to hold other bits and bobs (my lunchbox for one, A4 papers - no pun intended) as well as my camera with just the Sigma 24-70 (quite a fat lens) attached.

It doesn't need to be padded all over, so long as there is definite protection for the camera against the usual knocks etc.

I like the look of crumpler from a styling point of view for walking around with, but am wondering if there are other alternatives.

Not sure i've explained myself too well. I want a bag that could look/feel/act like a normal satchel/courier bag, but that has at least one section with padding to protect the camera should I wish to take it out too (which I will).

This has come about because of me carrring the camera everywhere. And at the mo that means carrying my existing 'work' bag, and the LowePro!

Any recommendations?

Sorry, wasn't really after a rucsack. Want something more messenger/courier/satchel style.

Call me stupid, but isn't that larger than the Slingshot? Depending on which Slingshot you have, I suppose.

I was looking at Domke, but cant seem to find a decent site with 'internal' shots. Anyone got personal experience of them?

I am a big fan of the Crumplers - had a slingshot and have sold that and just got myself a 'Crumpler Daily 370' which is good - although not sure it would be large enough for A4 papers, but the next couple of sizes up that are designed to take a laptop as well as a camera probably would be (the laptop section should be good for the paper stuff assuming you aren't carrying a laptop)

Many thanks, looks like a good useful link :)

I use an F-Stop Bard for exactly what you want to use it for, a manbag/work bag that I can fit my camera in too...

I recently bought a Crumpler bag and I'm really disappointed with it. It's like a reverse Tardis - much bigger on the outside than the inside. Huge amounts of padding and it comes nowhere near being able to take the amount of equipment they claim. Complete waste of money.

Eeek, which model.

I was leaning towards the Daily XL (600) as it looks a cracking bag and gets good reviews everywhere i've looked.

I'm slightly put off Domke partly because one of the images features an old mac powerbook like I used to own... erm... in the early '90's I think. I would have hoped with technology moving at the pace it does, the design of their bags would have moved on too.
