Welp, I handed a few friends (5) my old Olympus OM10 and asked them to open it up, it took them 17 mins!

That vid is a classic bit of recording, and had Jules not been quite so hot headed (in terms of voice pitch etc) and only 16 at the time things might have been handled differently. The Police Sergeant certainly picked the wrong 'kid' to have a go at when it comes to photographers rights! :lol:

Can't believe it,do we now live in a police state,as for them not knowing the guideline,maybe their to busy counting the backhanded from NI :'(

Even if a father did complained,the police officer still has no right to destroy your film,she broke the law,and she should be delt with.

I would still complain,and even if a child was in your shot,under the law as it stand now,it is not an offend to take photos of children in the street.

If it was some of the worlds greatest photography would have been in a lot of trouble,from Bert Hardy to Bresson,and a lot of great photography working today.

After watching the video, I can understand that a few people may be upset by the guy's relentless Brummie drone, but:
The police were clearly in the wrong, and kept on digging themselves deeper in, instead of ignoring him.
He was 100% correct in everything which he said and did, and although sarcastic and challenging, was never abusive or threatening.
 
Blimey, I managed to keep out of this one...
