Yes another 1, err 365 that is "Still going... sort of"

Wooo, go us!
Excellent detail in the moon, not convinced on the colour, the blue seas give it a load of depth, maybe I'd prefer it with less red and green.
What lens was this with?

Thanks cyclone  I might give it another edit with the red and green toned down a little see how that comes out. Shot was taken with my Canon 100-400L.

Sean

Thanks alot Dave hehe I must be lacking in creativity a bit 2 moon shots in the first 9 days.

Yeah me too - I've struggled with ideas since I've been back to work. But it's great to have all the support from you guys :D

Yea bloody work gets in the way of all the fun lol, I find it really hard on work days as I don't get the time to go anywhere, I can't take photos at work (company policy), not enough time at lunch time to get anywhere (30 minutes lunch breaks suck) then I usually come straight home to walk the dog by which time Im too tired to be going to far wouldn,t be to bad if I had transport but relying on buses etc. it isn't going to happen especially not in this weather, So I'm pretty much limited to either around my area which isn't the most photogenic place or in the house.

Anyway I picked a great day to do a long exposure left work and it wasn't a bad night not to cold and fairly calm, went out with the dog about an hour ago and its windy as hell. Posting 2 shots the planned one which didn't work and the unplanned one which erm also didn't work to well lol.

The planned one this is just down the road from me I pass it everyday when I walk the dog, and It looks pretty cool when it's all lit up at night. Never actually took a shot of it before so I went out tonight and set up the tripod damn wind was so strong I had to hold on to the tripod to keep it steady, could have done with something to hold onto me to keep me steady too it was that windy lol, hence it's a bit blurry. Also took the wrong lens I think, took my 14mm sigma which I haven't used for about 6 months and I think it was a little to wide to get a decent composition.

Shot 2, this is the path I walk my dog along at least 3 times a day sick of the sight of it tbh, but it can be nice and peaceful at night if the weathers not to bad, I tried to portray the difference between the path at either side of the bridge where I took the shot from has a bit of light, but once you get a little way past the bridge in the distance it is pitch black for about 50 yeards so dark in fact that sometimes I can't see the dog when hes on the leader 2 foot in front of me. Needless to say I dont think this shot worked out to well either.

Ah well thats why I'm doing this to try and improve and learn from my mistakes, hopefully I will.

Anyway sorry about the long post and thanks for looking.

At least you got it done. These threads are about ups and downs and that means that on some days, you just won't get the shots you were after, but you have to post them anyway so they are still telling a story. I've already posted some really crap shots, but i'll keep plugging away!

Here's to a better day tomorrow.

I don't know Sean, I like that second shot. I like the way it leads the eye in, making me wonder what's beyond the bridge. The exposure suits the image too.

I think we're all gonna have good days and bad days on this journey. Keep going - you've got some great shots so far.

Thanks Marc I am hoping this will help me improve my photography but I think its going to be an uphill struggle work days are always bad for inspiration but I'll keep plugging away.

Im yet to see a crap shot of yours mate they've all been good I think the fact that they ll have some sort of meaning to you makes them even better.

Cheers Dave appreciated mate and no thoughts of giving up yet can't wait until the summer so I can think about something other than night shots or indoors on work days, bloody dark when I leave for work and dark when I leave to come home give me some evening sunshine ;)

Always wanted to try a macro of an eye, didn't have any available volunteers so had to make do with my own, took me ages to get a shot in focus with the composition right, my original idea was to use the remote shooting software on my laptop with liveview to check the focus etc. But trying to look at the laptop screen with one eye and having the other staring down the lens was impossible .

Anyway after some trial and error eventually got there pretty happy with the result although I would have liked to have gotten the catchlight on the pupil but that would have probably taken me another 50 shot's and I dont think I could handle that many more flashes :gag:

Thanks for looking

Looking at yesterday's, I recon it'll look better with a bit more light in the sky.
You got close to the pupil with the catchlight, I've got one of these somewhere, not this good though.

Cheers cyclone, the unedited version of yesterdays did have a lighter sky but it had a horrible orange cast to it which I didn't like.

I did get a couple with the catchlight on the pupil but that was using the onboard flash i prefered the shadow cast from using the flash off camera.

Aye, another good shot!

Cheers Dave :)

 Thanks Marc took me a lot of attempts would have been far easier with some body else's eye

Very true kept me amused and frustrated at the same time

Poor chap! You can see he looks down in the dumps...hope he is a little more sprightly soon! :)

There's no substitute for a vet, but it does sound like a 24hr thing to me, it happens to dogs a bit.

awww he looks so sorry for him self

Thanks guys appreciate the concern :)

Aww, doesn't look too happy does he? I tend to not worry too much with animals if they are still eating, so hopefully he'll be better in a couple of days or off to the vets with him! ;)

He was eating but bringing everything back up which was a bit worrying.

Well I feel like crap damn manflu but Charlie is back to his old self, took him for a nice walk this afternoon, dont think it done me any good but he enjoyed it.

Here he is looking much happier than yesterday :)
