I kind of get what she is saying, but it is a strange world when the simple fact is that child is born an M or an F and not a U.
I would actually understand if the child was born defective of acturate parts.
 
Status of the "parent", says it all really.

Sexual orientation is rarely a choice.
 
I wonder how much money that costs the canadians so that krank could have her 15 minutes.
 
There have been reported situations where the gender based on external genitalia has been difficult due to genetic or development issues and gender has been 'assigned' based on best knowledge not definitive distinction.

However, this case appears to be nothing to do with the above but more about personal agenda in regard to gender identity of the parent being imposed on the infant in a way that is divergent to the centuries of received wisdom(?). I wonder what 'same sex parents' do about how they bring up their adoptive or sperm donor conceived children??? I have always (logically?) thought with these parents it was a non issue ~ they are what they are without gender identity issues!

If you fail to see the obvious, next time I am going to call you a racist if you disagree that sky is green and those winged creatures in the air are in fact flying pigs.
 
I wonder if we need XY/XX designations (which will work for most people except those with genetic problems).

Never said she was hurting anyone did ? There was a similar case last year involving a couple who didn't want to get married. They wanted a civil ceremony which is for same sex couples only. They cost the government and us tax payers millions just because they wanted to be different

Factually incorrect, please read about intersex conditions. Even ignoring biology, genitalia do not necessarily determine gender identity.

The lost 2-1 in the court of appeal, but all three judges said the situation needed to change soon as it is discriminatory at present, the reason for the loss was that two judges accepted the government's position of "wait and see" regarding the continued uptake of civil partnerships among same sex couples before deciding what to do.

If you support discrimination by the state based on sexual preference, and think wanting to end discrimination makes you a "whack job" and "crank", then there is no hope :(
 
Taking the modern trend of self assignment of sexual identity to it logical conclusion. she is clearly way ahead of us.
However I am not sure that all the many interlinked official administrative systems and databases, can yet accommodate such a radical change.
Nor is there sufficient legal and political will at an international level, for such a person to be universally catered for or recognised.

The sooner the human race stops needing to classify everything, to fit everything and everyone into smaller and smaller pigeon holes, the better.

Laws and regulations. are not changed to accommodate Fruitcakes, cranks and whack jobs.
The variations in gender identity have been officially recognised by many countries through out the world.
If you had a gender identity that differed to your biological gender, you too would recognise the problem as real.
 
So how many people are born each year as U then? Fair does I agree there is a requirement for the occasional U. Nut read the original article first. The child involved is not a U somply the mother wants to dictate the child can make there own decision in later life. Ummmmm crackpot alert.

Its not always a simply biological observation.
 
I am in quite a few Sewing groups on Facebook as I make clothes for my kids. Every now and then I see a post about making gender neutral clothes and it always seems to be parent led. It makes me wonder if the parents are creating an issue for these kids in the future?

I have a son and daughter. My son wants to dress as a boy and is very aware of boy vs girl from his peers at school. My daughter is very much a tomboy and likes me to make her dresses from superhero fabrics but quite often picks girlie fabrics too.

Just let them grow up and make their own choices without going to the extreme. They will adjust to their surroundings and gender themselves. They will face their own challenges in their lives without us parents creating them for them.

Well there are the "in-betweeners" they are called Hermaphrodites :D

What is even more strange, I posted this elsewhere sometime ago, and well before this case made the news.
