So if the site you are using is template based, why not only use that to display the images that are for sale, ie. your log-in section?

This can be linked from other pages of another site, something a bit more subtle in approach and a little more professional and arty.

Either tell me to shut up or ignore me like previously.

???

IMHO he's quite right, there's no way I would do any serious business with someone using a hotmail address.

Well-having only just got the doamin name-I have to find out about getting webmail sorted for it. i dont see the problem-its an email and would have got round to it sooner or later.

Sorry definitely didnt tell you to shut up I dont think-but if I ignored you its just cant keep up-yes I think that is the way to go.

but I have to do that some other time.

OK, but it's important. It comes across as 'business of no fixed abode'.

In reality it makes no difference, but you're dealing with perception, not reality.

You didn't tell me to shut up, no worries there.

But why some other time and end up doing the work twice then?

Your 'information' pages can be enclosed within a website and then link to the template site for sales, if you can't do that yourself, get someone to build you a small site and then the stuff that needs 'adding' to, your galleries, can be done yourself. All you will need to carry through would be the colouring of page and font.

Because i cant afford it right now and just wanted something up rather than nothing.

Edinburghgary is going to take a look at this for me-so I have to wait until we have spoken in July for this.

My bit......
Hate the logo
But more worrying for me is the image under the portrait section ....
That really is a truly shocking example of professional portrait photography
If that is the best example of a portrait you have then seriously get some training you are doing yourself no favours there
Harsh but my opinion.

Come on guys, y`all need to take a chill pill........

Martin, take a break from it for a while bud......:)

temper temper. I will take crit as anyone else does. but when it goes up and down all the time-what am i supposed to do. just keep changing it and changing it back.

I am not a bloody kid-no need to swear at me.

Also I am not ungrateful. But do not need to take all advice-isnt that a normal world. can take it or leave it.

Some have even gotten rather upset I didnt do what they suggested. Well I cant please everyone-it is my site.

digitalmaniac, i got your PM and appology accepted, It was not a dig at you as i was under the impression the site was not generally publicised as your business site. It was just my opinion, a domain based email address is much more professional. NOT a dig at you.

Hope your business and site go well and you take onboard the contructive comments given by most of the TP members.

Good luck with your site.

I thought you were an adult when you said you had children. Grow up !

Read all the threads and see it was a mistake. Dont tell me to grow up i am mature enough thankyou-but we all loose our rag occasionally.

I have apologised to the person and it was accepted-lets leave it at that please.

look to be honest your site was getting better but it looks awfull again , take yourself away and look around the web and write down what every person has said about the site.

decide what you want to do and ditch the naff pics , i think you know yourself which ones are not good.

only you can decide whats best for you and leave it at that , get yourself a web based business guide book for photography and spend some hard work at it before you even attempt to show others , otherwise things like this will happen especially if you dont take all the crit very well.

you know you need more & better pics , so you should get them frist and then build a site to be proud of. Not a shoody peice that will put people off asking you to take pics of them.

you will get there in the end but you wont get there by showing a half developed site and claiming to be a pro

And don't forget you can create the best looking website and still not sell if you cannot engage your customer !

ok mate-claiming to be a pro is really not an issue-the public will think what the public think. I have seen worse than mine who claim to be pro.

I am embarking on a pro career-as im sure your aware. You dont start a business up as anything and say your an am do you.

Point taken though.

your doing it again lol

yes there is worse out there alot worse , but just because theres worse it doesnt mean you can be slighty better than worse.

embark on your career but take it slowly and get the images , forget the website for now. get pics and build your site slowly and profesionally

:agree: too, concentrate on building your business on proper foundations

This is from the first batch of pics i took the day i got my first dslr canon 400d with the standard 18-55 and no tripod, im not trying to big myself up but i think thats better than most of your pics and i would most definetly not call myself a pro then or even now. I am still learning and earning from photography , ive got a site i am building from html and i wont dare show it until i am happy with it and i know its up to full standard. Ive got weddings booked and photoshoots but im definetly still no pro

well then your pathetic

WTF!

Chillax dude.

You'll never run a business off a hotmail address, businesses that started their net presence in the early nineties and have got a good reputation in a niche market can get away with it. A new start up won't.

Don't get uptight with people, They're trying to help already.

All getting a bit out of hand. If you're asking for honest opinions and advice then you have to at least listen, even if you don't always like it.
