middle class Tory voter then ?![]()
Well the grip I ordered on Sunday has been dispatched according to its eBay status, just waiting now for RM to do its worst![]()

That may be on the older lower spec cameras, but I doubt that's the case when you get to the magnesium alloy chassis models (xD cameras) as the OEM grips have magnesium alloy chassis too. As I've pointed out above, the Meike grip is certainly not identical on the 5D2 or, apparently, the 60D (according to the link I posted). I suspect the 7D is different too. Again, whether the difference is worth it to you is a different matter. As others have said, the build quality is identical to the Canon grip.

Well, the grip turned up today - great service it has to be said.... and it's a Meike grip
First impressions having never had a gripped camera are, what a whopper! It certainly bigs up ya camera man
I like it, I think it will fit nicely in with what I want, although I definitely need a new tripod and monopod now to help
Thanks for the pointer tho, pleased with this!![]()
Would I buy a non gen battery grip?
No I wouldn't, but obviously many would, so not an issue.
However I have to ask why someone would spend a thousand quid on a camera and then try to save a few quid by buying a 30 quid battery grip. Beats me and seems totally illogical?
