Works for me. Wonder what's over the bridge?
That works well Alan. Those leading lines do really take you into the pic and make you want to cross the bridge and explore.
Thanks.
I've been trying to take a picture of this I'm happy with for some time, I took this one yesterday, but it's difficult as the light is often harsh and the sky easy to blow. I think I need a camera with about a zillion stops of dynamic range
I have a bit of a thing about transitions and bridges are in that as they link and allow movement from one place to another so I have a lot of pictures of them. Sometimes I over think things![]()
It's a very nice image. I think that we (humans!) respond very well to any image that shows a path disappearing out of sight - it piques our interest.
I completely agree with your "dynamic range" comments. I am amazed that many flagship cameras use 12 bit detectors. I've done a bit of astrophotography with 16 bit cameras, and I find it incredibly frustrating that our cameras are so poor in this regard.
Some of my photos on the local canal have exactly the same issue that you describe. Trying to photograph a Great Crested Grebe is almost impossible on a sunny day, and quite pointless on a cloudy day!
Good use of camera height and focal length here. This type of shot is harder than it looks.
Really like the patina on the metal. I like how you're used the band of light to bring out the bee in the middle lantern.
LOL, made me laugh. Your reply to my comments on your last shot referred to you "overthinking" things...Thanks.
It took me ages to take that shot and get the framing as I wanted it without moving anything, the lamp bubble in the top corner, the dogs, the buttercups and waiting for the light to be right on the metal lamps, not cropping the bottom corner of the middle lamp, including the edge of the fence, the bush and sky. As I was using a 35mm I was just inches from the lamps and getting the composition right came down to millimetres and tiny movements and my knees were hurting![]()

Well composed on them shot Alan.
I really like the low viewpoint. The composition and colours Alan. Nicely done![]()
Looks like a cavity-in-waiting, but a treasure for your tastebuds
Very surprised not to see a collection of vintage/legacy lenses![]()
Gosh that looks like a very naughty cupboard! Wholenut is my favourite - although strangely I'm off sweet things at the moment and heavily into salty things - oh dear - I don't think either is good!!... for your health I mean!!
Normally I just never buy crisps because I find them too tempting. However I have been craving salty foods after my recent spell in hospital. I also noticed that my sodium levels had dropped below normal in my blood tests, so I confess this has been the best excuse ever and I am getting through quite a few bags of them!!We eat crisps but again not a lot. It takes three of four days or maybe a week to finish a bag of Sensations Thai sweet chilli but we might have it a fortnight before we open itOur sweet treats often go out of date and then Mrs WW wont touch them, but I will

You must have a fast metabolism - lucky, I think. Normally I don’t worry too much, but I do try and eat healthily so wouldn’t usually buy crisps and chocolate. I did step on the scales this morning and no surprise, I have gained, but I am healing, so that comes first. I’m sure it will shift once normal life returns.I tell you something you may not like
I can eat anything and in fact I seem to have to force feed myself to maintain weigh and if I stop I drop about 1st from what I am now. Also, whenever I have a medical everything is spot on, apparently I'm the perfect specimen which of course amazes Mrs WW no end![]()
I like the one you’ve chosen Alan, A good tight and colourful composition. The medals are a very special treasure too.![]()
I really like the busyness of the sweeties shot, lot's going on and really vibrant.
