I knew it must be a bearing or bush missing.cant believe its been checked and classed as excellent condition, quite a few marks and scratches also, but the main part missing being over looked astounds me.

Yes not even usable as it is ,I cant help with parts as my range of Gimbals are very different best to email the maker for parts.

Retailer or private?

Shocking!
I think so,along with the marks it looks like the black paint has gone a weird green shade like copper goes in places. How can they miss the main mount missing on inspection after buying it as a trade in and then on packing it up. Not sure I'll be using them on any future purchases.

It looks like the whole of the bottom rotating/panning base is missing. There is no way to attach that to a tripod in its current state. In the condition its in a more accurate description would be 'spares or repair', there is no way that can be sold as functioning in good condition. Definitely a return and refund job with them paying the return postage.

I'd send it back and request another. I've heard of things like this before where used items have not been as described and the retailer not having another used so sent out a new one as a replacement. Got nothing to lose by asking!

Exactly parts only and not very good ones.
Have spoken to them and had a reply of we sent the wrong one from the first person and then I asked for the proper one to be sent out.Another person called me back and when I again asked for the other to be sent out was told that is the only one we have had in and to return it for a refund.

How much are the parts to make it functional from wim and how much will the company refund you to save sending it back....

Not good, seem to be letting it slip recently!
Yep,have seen good reports on here of their service and used gear.Any thoughts on what it would be worth paying for it in its current condition ?.
Parts could be shipped in from US for around £120 inc shipping and import tax, could do with a rub down and respray also. Its obviously had a long hard life.

TBH I'm not sure I would want to repair it myself, the whole gain with a Wimberley gimbal is it's stability and smoothness which might well be lost trying a self-repair.
I would keep looking, I picked up a good Mk1 for a lot less than the usual Mk2 price ... eBay shows a new one in Morocco for around £350 if you want to try abroad but they do come up from time to time 2nd hand.

Cheers Gramps,I have seen the one on the bay he's sold a couple already to the US.
With import tax it runs well over £600,Chuck from Wimberley said the only part that needed a factory refit if removed was the donut held in by the three screws. This seems to have been untouched.Id probably be looking at £100, rather than the £350 paid. They would more than likely want more, depending on what they paid and would rather bin it and except a loss.Cant believe they actually bought it and didn't check it before issuing payment.I like to keep my gear mint so it may trouble me to know its been misused even if repainted..Must be good kit as they rarely come up on here or the bay.The person I emailed has agreed its poor and they don't know how it slipped through their quality control.Stevie Wonder must have a "part time job there"
