The jollies are almost over and once again the great archangel will take to the skies to return to reasonable safety of the Kent countryside but first of all I decided to help my sister to put stuff up in her loft...the question is WHY THE [PLEASE DON'T TRY TO BYPASS THE SWEAR FILTER] DO PEOPLE JUST PUT STUFF UP AROUND THE LOFT OPENING...WHY NOT TAKE IT TO THE BACK OF THE LOFT AND STORE SAFELY..... But on a good point I will have archangel manor to myself all weekend as Mrs A is going on to her mother's for a few days #pintsandparty

Most of the crap in our loft is well away from the hatch but some stuff (suitcases, cat transport cage, fans/heaters etc.) is within easy reach of the access point so it can be grabbed off a step ladder without having to get right up into the roof space.

I suppose we should really have a good clear-out up there and dispose of stuff that's completely redundant and/or hasn't been used for years.

Lol we had multiple entrances to our loft area. We had one entrance removed and ceiling fixed. What did my wife do when preparing it for the workman, yup move the stuff right on top of the door of another entrance which is a push up hatch. Grrrr

I'm guessing so you don't have to keep climbing in etc.
Non starter for me mines empty as I'm to scared to go up one rung on a ladder lol

If you've got enough crap to need to store it away from the loft hatch, then you've just got entirely to much crap!!
If it's not seasonal....Chuck it!

But but but I got to keep the train set for when I have grandchildren one day :(

Yeah, the grandchildren.

We all know you like to go up there with your guard's hat on and make choo choo noises.

At least I now know one of the customers of my pay per view channel :p

My loft hatch is screwed shut! Otherwise the mother in law would escape

You silly man, you'd want her to escape ;)
maybe not...

I have just this afternoon put a suitcase in the loft, and yes I put it just near the opening. Why, because I am scared of the bogeyman

Won't somebody think of the grandchildren?

Oh, you are, JP! :D

That's just @dejongj doing another webcast. I'd say "nothing to be afraid of", but that wouldn't be entirely truthful.
Just wait until tonight's episode. I've just returned from London and I've got a new outfit :)

Yup, although carnaby street is not really the place anymore.

Popcorn all round.

And a bucket ;)

As I understand it M&S do frilly panties too :D
Actually my cousin used to have a great men's and women's lingerie boutique. I do have some style cobra.

I mean just look at this, that was at the time of the Kinks, I already had it.

Can't be any worse than the 3 blokes I've just seen standing at junctions in really naff Spiderman costumes, advertising Dominos Pizza.

You certainly do (y)

I'm not so sure about the "clown" on the right, in glasses though :D

I guess he only thing worse than that is actually having to do that job.

What was wrong with the ones I sent him?

Is it because I wore them first?
Sorry, I sold them to this chap going to Japan. Great secondhand market for worn knickers.

Apart from being hot, at least two of them were wearing the mask so couldn't be recognised by anyone they knew, but the 3rd didn't have his mask on but was wearing a hoodie under the costume, he must have been roasting.

Probably draughty with the crutch missing.

No I don't ! She's a violent nutter! Keep her locked up!
Lol I had it the wrong way around. I thought you bolted the hatch so you couldn't go up and out. I now know it is so she can't leave the loft.

Will someone please think about those poor mice and starlings.

It's worked though hasn't it!
Next time you fancy pizza you'll think of them straight away ! And order

Mines all round the hatch, it's itchy up there

I can see my logo changing soon

Actually, now you have come to mention it, I have recently completed a major loft clear out where I had 4 video/TV stands, a school desk, 8 broken PC towers, 2 broken garden chairs, 2 doors, rolls of carpet, 2 CRT TVs, 4 computer monitors (of the CRT type), stereo units, synthesizers which never worked, books, VHS tapes, 3 broken fake Christmas trees, 2 boxes of cables and adaptors . . . and the list went on. Anyway, fast forward six months and now I only have two cardboard boxes of keepsakes (artwork and toys I had when I was a kid) in the loft, the rest is space.
The problem came to light when I noticed a crack starting to form in the ceiling of my hobby room and I went up in the loft to investigate and it was where a TV stand sitting on top of a TV stand slid off and almost broke through the ceiling . . . so I decided something has to be done, while a majority of it was chucked away or sent to the tip, some items got sold so I made a little bit of pocket money out of it. That's how I went from a loft stuffed full of junk to just the two boxes. I've really been ruthless about it - and quite rightly so.
Mind you, I did go through a serious Boot Fair phase in the past and that's where most of the junk came from, but since I gave up the car five years ago, I rarely bother with boot fairs these days.
