Why Andy Warner-Simpson (ASPhotographyMK) has been banned from our forum

Apart from his completely irrational behaviour last night on the forums, there then ensued a series of PM's and emails which he sent me which were more and more irate.
Naturally he ended up getting permabanned (on his request I might add.....).

Just before he was banned, he left this message on the forums to another member:

Just thought it might be pertinent to share with the members the sort of crap we have to put up with on a daily basis.
This is from someone who purports to be a family friendly photographer.

I'm not sure I'd want someone with that sort of violent attitude photographing my family?

This was after his flounce (or just before if we're being picky).
He took offence in that other thread at being told that some things he were saying could be libellous, had a strop and deleted all his posts from the thread.
I said it was childish to do so, locked the thread and reverted all the message edits, which kicked off the PM's and emails.
 
Now I have to go and find these threads... Not easy on the phone app! ;)

Saw his OOF post yesterday which I commented on as felt his frustration, I've felt it myself...then saw what else had gone on...all I can say is he really went in off the deep end didn't he :( not good at all it's a shame that the team of green have to put up with such crap it really is.
 
totally unacceptable to have to deal with that sort of stuff.

I agree completely. I think a ban was best all round. I'm not making any excuses for him, but I wonder if the death os his son earlier this year explains his recent behaviour. I guess that takes a lot of getting over

The same thought occurred to me. The ban, which he seems to have requested, was probably the best solution though.

Very sad. While I don't think i have partaken in any of these threads he has been involved in, and looking at the mods comments it seems right to ban, everyone should realise that sometimes life can affect the way we interact. I have been through a very tough time these last 2 weeks, although in my case have generally not posted rather than become irate. Sometimes the stuff we have to deal with can override stuff and no-one knows what people may be thinking or going through.

I don't think anyone has made excuses for him. Just presented a possible reason. I know Northerners are hard, but at which point did the death of your 2 year old son become 'Soppy' in Lancs

Never put the two together, but the loss of his son and perceived defence of a p*** might go a long way to understand his thinking
I say give the guy a break and move on. No need to turn a daft comment into a witch hunt
I love Christmas because it brings out the best in people. It can also bring all the hurt back and embitter them. Definitely not looking to turn this into an argument so I'm ignoring this thread now.

I'm not defending his actions in any way, as I'm sure we have all had some serious stress in our lives one way or another while we have been members on here.

However if anyone is interested in "his" story its HERE although some may find it distressing.
 
I was thinking about this yesterday whilst reading his responses on "that" thread.

It's his first Christmas since losing his boy so I doubt he's himself at the moment.

I agree he was out of order but all things considered, I think we should give the guy a break.

I understand you have this dickish online persona and sometimes it really works and causes an odd chuckle, this isn't one of those times.

I wasn't particularly aware of him, or paid notice to be honest after his fight posts, which at the time I thought explained some of his aggressive writing style.

Very sad news, however that doesn't excuse his behaviour towards some, especially those who may have been able to help, support his fundraising etc.
 
I want to voice my support for @Marcel's actions, people need to respect the staff/admins/mods and all that they do for us. I don't know the guy in question or his personal circumstances but threats of violence are completely unacceptable. Suppose for one minute that the staff/admins/mods got to the point of saying "f***-it I'll go do something else"; there would be no forum.

There is a lot if the usual debate and banter above but Marcel must have had a rotten time after having to take this action and I'm sure it wasn't done lightly, so let's have a bit of consideration for him having been put in such a situation, It should never happen. This is a really good forum and has loads of great people contributing to it, let's make sure it stays that way.
 
No matter how upset he was by the tragedy of his son dying, its still no excuse for threatening a mod with violence. I completely support the decision to ban him.

I don't think there is. No-one is questioning Marcel's decision, which would contravene forum rules anyway. A few of us have pointed out that AS suffered a terrible loss earlier this year, which might have played some part in this, but I haven't read a single post trying to defend or excuse his behaviour.
