Yes
I've been asked to go and do gig shoot for them tonight. Rock on :)

Do they use zimmer frames in the act now?

Have fun.

Of course we do...........it was the man with the rubber lips!!! :D

probably - and an oxygen cylinder for each :)

Seriously though, they're looking pretty good and still recording and selling CD's. All I can say is god for them - stilll doing what they love to do and getting paid for it. Nothing wrong with that

Well as you're photographing Showaddywaddy I hope you go dressed the same as them!

I think I might give the outfit a miss thank you! What worries me is it might be embarasing if I am there at the front and only 10 people turn up to see them :)

a glam-rock group of the seventies. Think along the lines of the bay city rollers meet gary glitter and you won't be far wide of the mark.

Thanks Hepburn ....I err didnt know them:whistling:

:lol::lol::lol:

Who put the bomp in the bomp a bomp lol

I remember them! Still got some vinyl of them!! (worth a bit? probably not!)
If possible, put some oics on here? I would be interested.

I have a photographic memory that was never developed

Hey Hep do some research :) They were around at the same time but certainly not glam. They are more a rock 'n roll band covering 50s and 60s classics. The look they have always gone with is the traditional Teddy Boy but with lots of colour.

I grew up through all that stuff (70s I mean) so it will be a bit of nostalgic fun aswell as a shoot.

I'll add some of the pics to my website but I'll maybe stick a couple up here if they are any good

I saw them live, blimey erm...a lot of years ago. They were brilliant.

Or worse, you have to fight your way through the supporting cast of st. john's ambulance crews... :naughty:

well i grant you they weren't as OTT as glitter and tended to wear drainpipes a lot if i recall correctly? But not glam? I'd say they were glam for the seventies

Either way, like you, i grew up around that era and i remember the music well (especially with a slightly older sister who loved them too). Have a great time tonight. I can't help wondering how they've aged so i'm looking forward to seeing some pics. :)

They were more like Teddy Boys rather than Glam Rock , They were excellent in their day.

I saw them and the Glitter Band about 14 years ago at party in the park at Bingley yorkshire. They were great.

Now Sweet were "glam rock"

I saw them at Baileys Nightclub in Watford, they put on a good show

Oh alright, i give up... Showaddywaddy are not, were not, and never have been glam rock. Not even semi glam rock. I was wrong... Gonna hang my head in shame for mistakenly misleading all my fine fellow forumites and go back to my corner and sob my l'il ol' eyes out... Age is a terrible disease of the memory! :'(

:coat: :D

edit: Just to make sure I wasn't going (or gone) slightly mad I went an conducted a quick street poll and the 3 people who decided I wasn't a nutter and stopped all said showaddywaddy were glam rock for them.

Isn't Gary Glitter into Camera's and computers etc? Paeda of the gang?

Dave Barton (Singer) and Romeo Challenger (Drummer)...........How sad am I????.

And no cribbing from the internet.

I seem to remember buying one of their albums on cassette (remember cassette tapes?)
...gawd only knows why as I never really liked them:|

I remember them and it brings back awful memories of the musical dross we had shoved down our throats by TOTP etc in the 70's,then again at least they could sing unlike most X factor or Pop Idol winners

Lots of soft focus methinks and re-touching to get rid of the wrinkles.

There's a lady whose sure all that glitters is gold and she's buying a Stairway To Heaven
Ah Rolf Harris?

I notice that Trevor Oakes is not on the current tour as he is unwell. Until recently I worked with Trevor's son Simon in Leicester.

Anthony.

Their actually in a TV avert at the moment, i can't think what it's for right now, but you catch a glimpse of them right at the end of the advert, i'm sure someone will know it :)

I saw them a couple of years ago when I was working as a sound engineer during Cowes week on the Isle of Wight.
They were still good and had a large audience.

Steve.

They almost did, in the form of their manager Tam Paton - another infamous P****.

Bizarre...went for a cuppa with my Dad along the seafront today and saw that they're playing the Exmouth Pavillion in a few weeks time...how are the mighty fallen?
